Herbie fighting on Saturday

Post by jomothepure »

Opponent is still TBA, and I doubt it will be great, but nevertheless a usefull run out for Hide on the Sam-McCall undercard. JC Gomez fights Bakhtov ( don't think that will last long) and of course SSS fights McCall, in what is dangerously close to a title eliminator. This is SSS's first fight since labouring to a pts win over Big Bob last November.

I'm sure they'll find a ticket-selling niche amongst all those who bought a ticket for Enzo-Gunn

Herbie went bananas years ago :TU:

As soon as he meets someone who will punch back he'll lose again, but he's too fooking stupid to find anotheer career path

Enzo or Haye?

How long would you give him with either? A round at most.....

Well Hide can still punch, and Haye and Macca can be hurt. But i'd expect any fight between those and Hide be over inside 3 rounds. Both of them would start favourite over Hide.

I'd like to see it happen though, just for entertainment value.

He could get to British level at Cruiser I reckon... He was always too small for the HW's... but good luck to him, hes taken better fights than a lot of protected 'champions', so for that reason alone, let him have some more success and maybe another payday...

I don't think Enzos promoter would touch Hide with a bargepole (in terms of matching Enzo with Hide).

Hide can still have a say a top top level even if he doesn't win nothing.

Fights v Haye or Macca would be mouthwatering.

I'd pay to see Hide fight again, if only to watch him get sparked by the first vaguely decent puncher he comes up against.

Oh sorry mate are you one of his fornicating pals or something? Every time you say a boxer is crap on here you get a comment like that!

As if I'm going to go up to Herbie hide and say he's crap! I was perfectly pleasant to him, he was busy shouting at some poor cow and acting a bit of a bully.

Perhaps I don't rate Hide as highly as some of you on here, to be honest i don't see how anyone can rate him highly.

When he stepped up he got knocked out, he became champ by beating Bentt, who was atrocious, he's been knocked out by some woeful fighters and the defining moment for me was watching an interview of him stood in his kitchen with Croc Fitch slagging off all and sundry a couple of years ago....

I don't feel he's got anything left, but like someone said, it would be value for money to see him in with someone half decent to see what happens.

Pretty dangerous game of Hide & Seek. "100!" :o :box:

Sure, Herbie's known to have a short fuse, but to be fair most active boxers do in my experience. At least, they're usually pensive and quiet, if not rude. Massive amount of pressure above domestic level.

[quote="boxrec"]He had an argument with Audley Harrison after one of audleys fights. [quote]

That's quite an understatement! The one and only time I've been in Hide's vicinity, and two minutes later chairs were whistling past my head!

I'd certainly watch it but what do you think the result would be?

Quick KO either way or 12 rounds of holding and cautious tottering?

For all his faults, nobody can accuse hide of holding and cautious tottering. Quick KO either way, and impossible to say who.

I can imagine it would be Audley doing the holding, Hide getting fed-up if he doesn't catch him in the first two rounds and then Harrison taking him out in the third....

Like to see them both laid-out though if I'm honest....
