Now its Povetkin v Donald

Monte Barrett has pulled out of his fight with Povetkin, now what usually happens over here is that Barrett would be replaced by a far less capable boxer, but Povetkin is now to face the differcult boxer Larry Donald.

Although Donald hasn't fought since 2005, he's always been a good boxer who's pushed all the top level in his fights.

Will be good to see how Povetkin does against a mover.

This i think is a more interesting fight since Povetkin will face a boxer who does well at a distance and is bigger than him.

Gutsy move but good preparation to a fight with one of the Klitschko brothers in the future.

Donald is tricky and skilled and is capable of making anyone look bad. I hope this sint a step too far from Pavetkin with his relative lack of experience.

Dean Powell could learn a lot from this kid's match maker though - if you believe they are good enough and have faith in your fighters ability - match them accordingly.

In all fairness though I think I would have personally avoided Donald if I was part of Povetkin's management team; stylistically he is a nightmare.

Credit to Povetkin for taking fights such as this.

Worse case scenario is that he is defeated by a far more experienced boxer, but will learn a hell of a lot in the process. Best case senario (and one that I think will happen) is that he beats Donald, gets a known name on his record and raises his profile as one of the most promising heavyweights around...and gets the experience anyway.

Whatever, it's nice to see an up and coming heavyweight (hell, any fighter nowadays) actually willing to back his talent.

A tough fight, but povetkin is the real deal and donald has had a long layoff.

I honestly dont foresee any problems for Povetkin, he will pressure Donald and bang away at him, the only question for me is will he stop Donald.
The likes of Holyfield and Valuev(who donald looked good against)dont have the pressure skills and speed of Povetkin and Larry does not have much pop to keep Povetkin off him.
I reckon Povetkin is going to look sensational.

Donald's been off a long time though, so it looks maybe like good matchmaking. Povetkin will have to deal with some real size in there. Good luck to him.

Good enough matchup at this relatively embrionic stage of his career, at least it is decent matchmaking and he will learn a great deal from the experience win or lose. Makes a change from hiding behind a padded record beating stiffs or showcasing fraudulent "world" title belts. Fair play to Sauerland for making this good fight, that's why he is the best promoter in Europe i suppose.
