i can see jono stopping earl late on, graham has taken too many shots in his career in my opinion, it will go the same way as the meager fight.

Graham prob needs the money, he is coming to the end of his career and has not really cashed in despite winning a few titles.

Isn't Earl going to fight Khan later this year?

He would probably get paid more for the Khan fight, and have more to gain.

Good fight this.

Got to feel for Earl a bit, at lightweight, Thaxton's a tough cookie and heavy handed too. Thaxton's performance last time round was pretty amazing, showed underrated boxing skills, and a good tactical awareness to go with those thumping shots.

I am surprised that they've thrown Earl into this fight after such a beating last time around, Earl isn't neccessarily going to be dissipated after only one really tough night's work, but you would have thought a confidence builder or two would be in order.

Who knows, maybe Earl himself wants to step back into a tough fight, he does seem the type given his gladiatorial effort against Katsidis even whilst under duress.

I suppose we should really applaud Earl though, this is a fight which if he wins, puts him right on the map again, and would do no end of good for his confidence.

It's also quite possible that Thaxton will not be able to reproduce the form he found in the Meager fight.

Good fight on paper, will watch this one with interest. Lets hope it definetly happens, these sort of fights are a real shot in the arm for British Boxing.

Good fight. I agree with the late stoppage for Thaxton although I have no doubt that Earl will put one almighty effort into it as he always seems to raise his game for the big ones. Graham Earl is one gutsy fighter, credit to both for making this matchup.

Great fight, are they cashing in Earl? I think he has taken a few too many shots during an exciting career and was slurring even BEFORE he met Katisidis. I think Thaxton will win by stoppage in about 6 rounds.

This would have been a great fight a while back and Earls heart will probably still make it exciting while it lasts but I cant help feeling that he will be on the wrong side of a pasting again in this one and I can see an early stoppage really... after his last fight Earl may well be running on empty now...

This is a cracking domestic fight on paper. I'd make it 50-50 on paper, although a lot will depend on how much Earl has left after the Katsidis fight.

I think we have seen the best of Earl, and he looks to looking for money fights - Actually he said as much himself.

Thaxton will take some beating on his home turf, and I don't believe Earl is the man to do it.
