So, first he gets outboxed by a journeyman. Then flattened in one round by another. Then they get him the safest possible comeback opponent, a guy with no wins, and while he does get the victory, he gets decked again. Well, fair play to him for perseverance, but what more evidence does he need that boxing's not for him?
mate if he wants to feed the family and wants to fight ..
become a bouncer a scruffy murphys in the city ...
he should be able to beat up on some 65 to 85 kg men on average.
and even if he gets knocked out by a 65 kg man .. there will be no record of it ! he wins both ways ...
give it up hoppa great footballer .. but sorry mate average boxer ..
just because he's not going to be a world champion is no reason for him to give up. If that was the case there would only be about half a dozen fighters in the country.
Give him a break. If he wants to fight let the man fight.
He has something like 9 kids, and was innactive from league for 3 or 4 years after the finger incident. So im guessing money is a bit short because of those two reasons...
The fact this thread exists is why he still fights...
There is still interest in him. So long as that remains he will be able to earn a living and continue to box, hopefully bettering himself along the way...
he's not hyped because of his boxing ability, he is hyped for his sideshow appeal, because he earned a high profile in another sport and was a renowned bad boy of league.
