All three could have a shot at M'Baye if they wanted it!

they will all do more/have done more than Rees.... so whats your point? If Warren is happy with Rees he would be v happy with Euro/world and British champions at the same weight...

Rees has not even fought for an area title, he has been manuevered into this position to get Mbaye a win... hope you all sleep well if it goes wrong for an overmatched fighter...

Rees hasnt even fought for an Area title? The fact the WBA have sanctioned this appears to be a massive disgrace.

Agree, that it shouldn't be sanctioned - but one major reason why Rees hasn't fought for a area title is the lack of Welsh Super Feathers. He has won an Intercontinental title and beaten a Celtic champion and former Commonwealth title challenger. However, this was at a much lower weight.

This is on a par with Golota being sanctioned to fight Byrd 4 years after his last meaningful win.

Well, I suppose at least Orlin Norris was a half meaningful win, Rees hasn't even had that... So I take it back, it is worse.

Although, Rees isn't bad and Mbaye isn't the strongest (physically) of Light Welters.

Yeah obviously Rees has got this chance because of SN, but hopefully he will realise that this is a chance of a lifetime.

Rees can really fight but has a rep for going off the rails, lets hope he whips himself into tremendous shape.

M'Baye is no great fighter but Rees prob needs a miracle, I hope he makes a good fist of it.

fair point, good post - I was mainly making the point to BC that Rees has not done anything near what Witter or Bami has done, not done what Lynes has done either.... if he cant get an Area title but is good enough for a 'world' challenge.... why has he not fought for the British title?
