As Terry said, he's now appreciating the miles the rest of us put in, navigating around strange places (try and find the car park of the Light Waves Leisure Centre in Wakefield, I dare you!).
Now his efficient female chauffeuse has ditched him, Dooley is expected to do some map reading. Only problem is, he's too used to reading French philosophy that he can't come down from Planet Solipsism and notice a fecking road sign!
One of my abiding memories of Sheffield, and I'm sure you remember this Ian, was at the Pond's Forge leisure centre, when I saw people plodding around in their towels out of the corner of my eye as they got out of the swimming pool, whilst they were making the announcements for a world title fight.
Very incongruous sight that, seeing fat old laides wobbling past in those swimming hats that look like they've got flowers on them, whilst in the background you could hear the trumpet players and fans chanting 'come on Clinton, come on Clinton!'

Castillo looked in good shape as he performed his final public workout at the Top Rank gym on Wednesday, indicating he was currently a comfortable three pounds over the limit.

Aye, you're right there, I remember that now! You could hear a brass band, be doused by a pensioner doing a belly flop...but could you get a beer? Could you feck.
jamesmcdonnell wrote:Well, look at Corralles, who started at featherweight. Suddenly he cannot get under 142, after years of making 135....
It can happen to a fighter, weight does fluctuate over periods of time, and as they get older it gets harder to remove that water.
If anyone can fucck it up, its Castillo.
but he made 140 earlier this year without too much drama so lets keep our fingers crossed.
still think the fight goes ahead if he weighs in 142 mind....
Ah, but i when i was in Vegas in May i was chatting to the conditioner that worked with Castillo for the January fight where he made weight with no trouble. He told me that he controlled his diet and guided him down sensibly but didn't get the call for this fight.
Apparently his usual method is the typical Mexican way of making weight - Train hard then get to about 2 weeks before the fight and reduce food & water intake down to zero 2 - 3 days out.
So we'll see how that works out for him this time.

Ahh I see, it only says 'indicating he was currently a comfortable three pounds over the limit.' - So did Castillo just say he was 3lbs over or is it a true weight taken
Castillo made 139lbs easy enough last time out probably training far less than he would for Hatton

I once woke up after a heavy night on the Cider to find a traffic cone sitting on the end of my bed! . Quite spooked me at the time, ...I still dont know where it came from!... 8)
this news is gonna to be meat and drink to hatton. he'll test castillo big time early on, the first 3 rounds are gonna be very interesting. i expect hatton to try to bust castillo up from the off.

Hatton would do better to box more and try and out finess Castillo... if he goes toe to toe with Castillo I see Hatton being the one who gets busted up... a lot in this fight depends on who has the most left, as both look to be sliding... can Hatton still keep up the pace like he did a few years back?... is Castillo as shot as he looked in his last fight...
I'm edging towards Castillo winning on points... he'll be just too tough and Hattons style is made for him in many ways...

Lets not forget that Castillo cuts up as well. I'm sure he was stopped earlier in his career on cuts.
This could be a blood bath brawl, but somehow, I don't think it will be -- or at least until the later rounds.
you misread me silkov, my point is a weight drained castillo could be bombed out early and hatton would be daft not to exploit the possibility of this. test him early on. especially if you might not want to go into the later rounds with a question mark over your stamina.
