DANNY WILLIAMS TO STAGNATE FURTHER

Post by Riddick Bowie »

not satisifed with covering old ground last time out by fighting sprott, danny says he is STILL willing to fight german novice next time out, and will do so in december, and will keep hold of his belts.

now, if i were wanting to chase world title dreams, i would relinquish my domestic titles and chase a meaningful fight against SOMEBODY.

however, if i got my arse hammered by a fat turk in germany and realised i have nowhere near the ability of mental attitude to compete at worl dlevel, i would keep hold of my titles, fight safe fights against nobodies and wait for a big payday v audley harrison, and to hell with real opponents.

which one is danny williams, do ya think?

I dont think Danny's heart is in Boxing anymore.

I think he would love to retire, but cant afford to.

Its a shame, because he is a really good guy who could have done better.

I agree with Ko artist

he's a great guy and has power and skills that should have made him a contender!

There is obviously something wrong with him mentally, I don't mean in a crazy way but i don't think he has that Focusthat great boxer's need!

I just think he's too nice a guy and sometimes he brings his peaceful ways into the ring!

Last time out Williams was probably in the best physical condition he's ever been in so I wouldn't totally write off his motivation yet.

Personally I'd be more than happy to watch Danny defend his British title against Sprott again followed by Hide (although Herbie seems to have had second thoughts now) and then Harrison. These are all big fights in this country and like I've said before - none of our heavyweights are going to make it into true world class so lets just enjoy them battling with eachother.

Danny said a few months back "If Audley want to be a world champion, he should be dealing with the likes of me quite comfortably".
I think it's true to say Danny does not have realistic World Ambitions, but British champion is something to be remembered by, and when Danny talks, he does seem very motivated to fight Herbie and Audrey.
I think he has the means to provide a competitive and enthralling end to his career without necessarily being a world champ.
