After years of watching boxing Bobby Chacon stands out for me as the bravest and most exciting boxer ive ever seen. Most people talk about his 4th fight with Bazooka Limon, which was undoubtedly one of the all time great fights and is my favourite, but he also had great fights with Ruben Olivares, Danny Lopez, Alexis Arguello, to name but a few.
He fought them all. Who can forget his two fights with Boza Edwards?.
One of Bobbys best wins must be his 9th round ko of the then unbeaten Danny Lopez. They had a great fight but Bobby had a clear edge in speed and skill. At his best Bobby was slick as well as exciting.
I'm saddened by the problems Bobby has experienced and the tragedies he has encountered but hope he realises that there many out here pulling for him and he'll always be a champ to us.

Just thought I'd bring back this thread from the past and see if anyone has anything that they'd like to say or ask about the great Bobby Chacon. He was surely one of the most exciting fighters ever, and I'd be interested in any information or memories people may have of him... or just what fights of his people have and might have seen.
I'd especially like to hear from anyone who saw any of Bobby's fights 'live' or who have actually met him.
He's a great warrior who should never be forgotten.
Incidentially imagine if his career had overlapped with Gatti's and the two of them had been able to fight each other at say Junior lightweight?....what a fight!.
