John Fewkes

I really rate this kid, and have watched his development for many years through the amateurs.
He fights Tontcho Tontchev on the Johanneson bill on 13th July.
This is clearly a major step up in class - Tontchev's last fight was a defeat to Romanov for the EBU title.
Much is said on these boards about risk taking or rather the lack of it, well that can't be pointed at Glyn Rhodes this time.
Is this a step too far, too early, or an ideal springboard to push Fewky to the next level ?
I personally think he will do the business, and we can look forward to a new challenger for belts in 2008.

Dunno what Tonchev has left at this stage in his career - he seems to have been around for ever!

Wasnt he a super feather during his peak?

Will this fight be at 10st?

I too am a fan of the little ginger nut and I for one hope he does the biz. His fights are always entertaining and I am sure this one will be no different! :TU:

I'll be there on 13th I hope and look forward to seeing Fewkey progress.

He does my head in when he messes about as, if you look at some of the scorecards, they've been closer than he thinks. He can't help himself, he enjoys it so much! :box:

Was a pretty good performance that night, kept Watson worried about what was coming his way, but Fewkes was shook right at the end of the fight, Tonchev is a step up for him should be good

Think Tontchev could be too big a step at this stage. How many rounds?

Great from Maloney and fewkes, like they said, he might lose, if he does he'll learn from it.

Glyns never afraid to match his boys. I lile Fewkes but he looks a bit lazy by the time he realises that hes getting beat it might be too lazy to change the pattern of the fight. Hope he pulls it off though.
