Mayweather calls out Hatton

anyway it looks like Ricky has succeeded in angering Mayweather. He has got Floyd's attention and I think with Hatton's experience in 'average' world class fights (Urango, Collazo, Maussa) his priority is to find a big name for big money.

I doubt the fight happens any time soon. They will sort of skirt around one another until the right deal is made which can take a long time. Longer it takes to make this fight, the more it favors Hatton.

Yes, I think you're right, Mayweather will drive a very hard bargain, but I think the truth is, outside of fighting DLH again, there isn't a bigger fight out there than taking on Hatton in Manchester, they could do a capacity fight at a football stadium surely to see Hatton take on Mayweather at home? The live gate could be astronomical.

Can anyone think, which was the last major fight to be held in a football stadium?

Actually I'm not sure Hatton-Mayweather makes more than Mayweather against either Mosley or Cotto

Would it make more than a Vegas fight though? Don't you get a big site fee at Vegas. And Hatton would bring Brit supporters, this fight probably sells out with all the interest there would be

Will Mayweather really pull more than Hatton-Tyszu? Boxingchat was saying Hatton didn't pull 20k supporters he was claimed too pull, so a football stadium maybe unrealistic

Mutt - Anderson was at the former Aston Villa Leisure Centre, now the Aston Events Centre which is just a leisure centre near Vile Park. Holds about 1,500

The last couple that pring to mind are Cardiff Arms Park for Lewis v Bruno and Loftus Rd for McGuigan.

I reckon Hatton/Mayweather here could bring in a 50,000 gate quite easily.

Mayweather wants it, i'm sure!

Mayweather has fought some very good fighters over the last few years but he likes to choose his oponents very wisely (IMO!) and i think he is looking to do just that with Hatton now. He see's a fighter that has a huge fan base, is comming of a classic performance that has propelled him into being a big time boxing star in the US market (= big payday, big exposure). He's said by many to be at his peak and the biggest threat out there to Mayweather. Floyd, i believe, is licking his lips over all this. I really believe he fancies the job against Hatton and see's this fight as low risk/high reward (to some degree). He will play hard-ball at the negotiating table, we know that, but i think there will be some give in him to try and get this fight on..... he's confident!!

If the deal fails to go through, i will be inclined to think it was Hattons camp that put the spanners in the works!

P.S. Tyson v Saverese at Hampden, the night Tyson hit the ref and then went on to say that he wanted to eat Lewis's kids. On the undercard Witter stank the joint out against Judah.

the fight wouldbe huge anywhere, especially in England. However, Fraud Mayrunner won't let it be anywhere other than his heavyglove comfort zone of Vegas i fear :(

i just hope Floyd means business and really truly wants to make this fight happen because he has said things in the past and then either contradicted himself or admitted that he was bulshitting, but if it gets made i would CRAWL to this fight wherever it may be!!
