Castilo is craftier and tougher than Zab, though. JLC was picking off that left hook to the body with an astute defense. Hatton feinted a shot to the arm/shoulder, drew Castillo's elbow away, then abused his body. Really clever move. Castillo is technically underrated and looked like he could minimise Hatton's attacks. Just a thought.verballistic wrote:really hard to say...i guess we'll just have to see them fight to find out!!boxbet wrote:Its close but I say Hatton.![]()
hatton's shot on JLC was awesome, but castillo is easy to hit!! cotto's on zab judah was much harder to land on a much quicker fighter who doesnt stand right in front of you like castillo!!

Fighters very rarely land their best shots especially on other elite fighters because of the quality of defense, guard, footwork and movement. The more skill and speed the more likely they are to land their best shots. Urango for instance hits harder than Hatton and Cotto but hes slow as molasses and can't get many of his shots off at all.
Hatton didn't beat Castillo because he was a bigger puncher he beat him because he got his shots off before Castillo could get his off. Its who manages to land their punches first without suffering counter shots

Hatton's has far more finesse and technical perfection. Billy Graham has taken Hatton's natural poise and balance and helped teach him how to use weight and levers to throw a sound body shot. Not knocking Cotto as a fighter but his body shot is really just like his head shot but lower down.
Hatton by far.
Hatton by far.

Hatton shot for shot is better, however, Cotto is far better in my mind at applying consistent pressure and mixing those shots up.
Early in his career Hatton was relentless to the body, but these days, he seems to throw as many, if not more head than body shots.
Cotto bangs away to the body round after round to soften opponents up, and more often than not, like the mounties, gets his man.

rickys strength is his foot work and making the anges to throw a good body shot.cotto bangs away relentlessly.I would fancy cotto at 147.Still if ricky goes back up to 147,as he says himself,he would be better prepared than last time.........cotto to win at 147.unfortunaely.
Lets have hitman back fighting in manchester.
