the belts cheapen thereselves when they do that.
and look how awful n'dou looked last week.
you nailed that one. how can you put the titles first when the IBF were willing to strip Hatton for not fighting N'dou?
Hatton is the real, people's, lineal light welter champ.
Can anyone say Souley, Paulie, Torres and Fritter are The Man with a straight face? It's nice to see a champ clear out all the opp, but when you beat Tszyu and Castillo & have fights with Mayweather & Mosley on the horizon, who gives a shit is what I say.

i wouldn't mind if any of those mandatories were deserving.
but neither n'dou or m'baye were the least bit deserving.
most of the fans would be rightly pissed off if jermain taylor didn't take on his mandatory kelly pavlik.
pavlik 100% deserves his title shot after beating miranda so comprehensively.
absolutely. fancy being told you can't keep your titles unless you fight M'Baye AND Ben Rabah. Fights that American TV would never go near...Hatton has basically gone the route that Barrera got credit for in the early '00s. If Hatton starts handpicking, sure we'll all complain then.
Witter (vs Harris), Mbaye (vs Kotelnik in 2 fights' time), Torres (vs Kendall Holt) could well lose their titles quite soon, so no one would give a damn...I still don't think M'Baye beat Kotelnik once!

Absolute and utter BS. M'Baye has to fight Kotelnik after Rees. Also, remember, Hatton is not a World Champion (IBO doesn't count) so the unification rule cannot apply.
You original source is wrong and therefore not reliable.
Hatton is the real champ at Light Welter, I don't think many people would argue with that, unless they had an agenda.
I'm not arguing with you but the WBC, IBF, WBA and IBF only recognise each other and not the others. If this were not the case why did the WBC
allow their International belt last Saturday. Fact is, Hatton MAY be the best 10 stoner in the world (Not even in the north of England in my eyes) but the facts are the facts, he is not a World Champion, belt wise at least.
Maccarinelli is the WBO Champion so is a World Champion "Recognised"
WBU and IBO are not in the same league and that tihnk is universally accepted. In fact, the IBO splinter from the WBU so why Hatton even has it, wants it or needs it is beyond me.
I'm sure Hatton doesn't give a flying fekk about the IBO belt, or the WBU belt he once had, however, maybe HBO wanted to put a title on the line, or he was just doing the IBO a favour by allowing them to offer him a belt.
End of the day, it's the fights that matter, not th belts.
