Boxrec have in no way ever had fights up there which haven't been close to coming to fruition.thingybob wrote:looks like it according to boxrec

Cruicially, we've hearn little from the American websites/media regarding this fight, but when they are seriously negotiating, the rumours will start to fly.
It's a common sense match and, unless promoters' press releases have been lying to me all these years, both sides seem to want it.
I'm not getting excited yet, though
There have been a few occasions when the editors have got a little excited. One I can remember being there was Jones vs Hopkins II. Toney vs Hopkins, Toney vs Jirov II are another two (although that fight seemed to be on).
Plus Riddick Bowe, Thomas Hearns and Tommy Morrison have had many a comeback fight scheduled that no-one has even heard about... then pulled.

So, this is the big question. Presuming this fight is happening, who precisely is Mayweather close to signing a deal with precisely?
I cannot believe that the fight is happening in the UK.
So, does this mean Hobson is out of the frame? Or has he agreed to have it in Vegas?
The silence is tantalising.
