lynes/bami/mutley
looks like colin lynes will step in to cover for ted bami who has pulled out of his projected bout with young mutley for teds euro title. colins recently gained british title is on the line, i think. quite why you'd wanna risk a british title under these circumstances i do not know! his mandatory is against david barnes so....its confusing.
what do we know about mutley? i have never seen him. but i hear he can punch a bit and usually fights at genuine welter.

i agree wouldent be taking fight if wasent confident, mutleys fight with kevin anderson was a cracker, mutley had it in the bag before tko so lynes has to be alert, but i defy anyone in britain to get past the lynes jab, he looked rejuvenated against morrison and mutley looks same type of fighter, anyone know if euro strap is up for grabs?Old bones Ian wrote:Confidence is a marvellous thing. Lynes is on a high at the moment, he's just won the British title in his opponents backyard, and won it well.
I'd be almost sure it isn't , Mutley was a voluntary defense so Bami isn't going to be stripped .oscar wrote:i agree wouldent be taking fight if wasent confident, mutleys fight with kevin anderson was a cracker, mutley had it in the bag before tko so lynes has to be alert, but i defy anyone in britain to get past the lynes jab, he looked rejuvenated against morrison and mutley looks same type of fighter, anyone know if euro strap is up for grabs?Old bones Ian wrote:Confidence is a marvellous thing. the barnes connexion puzzles me too. but its certainly true or my contact needs a kick up the arse.
the muttley bout is in wolverhampton and i have been asked to go but cant make it this time. i just hope colin jabs like he did last time out. he also looked slightly heavier in the morrison fight which pleased me.
i have to say i'm more concerned about muttley, a genuine welter, than i was against morrison who i knew couldnt match a well prepared lynes. muttley is more dangerous though.

Mutley isnt a genuine welterweight, though. He's had all but two (Jennings and Anderson) of his fights at light-welterweight –- winning the English title – and in the gym has been making the weight easily. He is over in Tenerife preparing for this fight.harrygreb wrote:i have to say i'm more concerned about muttley, a genuine welter, than i was against morrison who i knew couldnt match a well prepared lynes. muttley is more dangerous though.
I phoned up the co-promoter last night and he said Bami hasn't pulled out, or at least not that he knows of.
Mutley will beat Lynes or Bami.
Tom Podmore.
reading muttley's resume it seems he can comfortably go up and down weights. but can he box? we know he can punch. whats his chin like?
does he move? lynes is jabbing with intent these days on the back foot like a prime Minter. if muttley cant move well he'll get his face jabbed off.
its a good match up this one if it happens

Mutley will beat Lynes or Bami.lynes/mutly for ebu/british imo lynes wins wide points same as in morrison fight, rematch with witter on horizon?
Tom Podmore.
like i said on the original post 6 days ago ted bami HAS pulled out of this fight, lynes has indeed stepped in and my contact tells me that the bout is now for the European light welterweight title as bami has or will be stripped of that bauble.
apparently ted is citing domestic problems for this decision - shades of lloyd honeyghan - his Mrs has shown him the door etc.
lets hope colin can box as well as he did against barry morrison and lift the belt (for his dad more than anything else)
