Wow. This could be an incredible fight. Haye won't be banking on that early finish, that speech was pure hollywood for the media. It could go either way. Haye of course is capable of taking out anyone with that power, but how much is he going to get hit himself? I'm siding towards Mormeck in a blood and guts nailbiter but I can easily see Haye exploding out of the blocks and catching mormeck cold.

Oh and if Haye wins there is no reason whatsoever for him to fight enzo.

that is really a stupid comment...France never was in competition with Britain when it came to boxing...we have had very few champions, and Mormeck is one of the best fighters that we've had in the last decade, and i really hope he exposes Haye not because Haye is british but because everyone is saying after only 20 pro fights and no championship level fight he will beat Mormeck who has been into wars and is much more seasoned.

Very good point. If Haye hasn't scored the KO by the fourth, surely Mormeck will win. Mormeck has proved his worth against top level opposition on several occassions, and the fact Haye gets pushed onto the back foot so easily by European types concerns me when he comes up against a resilient, comeforward, world-class cruiser.

I know it's been on a much lower level but Haye has been testing himself against shorter come forward strong types recently and apart from the quick Bonin fight he has been struggling his way to victory. I think you'd have to make Momeck a heavy favorite going in but I wouldn't bet against Haye's power. Not sure Haye is fleet-footed enough for this fight to be anything other than a war, all over by round 7 one way of the other

Not always the case, what about the guy below who just may be the greatest ever Middleweight to come out of Europe, and he was French.

Unless Haye fells Mormeck early on, he's in for a rough night. Mormeck can be hurt, but he was exhausted against Bell first time round, and took a right shellacking before he went over.

Haye definetly has the edge is speed and power, but Mormeck is like a tank who just keeps rolling over you.

I think Haye is being a bit gung ho in the press release, I think he will go for the first round KO, but if he doesn't get it, will settle down and try and look for a potshot opportunity and set his work up.

Mormeck is not bonin, and Haye won't hit as hard at 200 as he was against Bonin.

I'm really looking forward to this fight.

The big problem I can see is Mormeck's work rate. If Haye falls behind by midway, he's in big trouble, and we will see if he can carry his power late against a genuine tough nut.

Win or lose, this is a great fight for Haye, and there would be no shame in losing to someone as seasoned and tough as Mormeck.

Well we all saw how much energy Mormeck had in the rematch when the fight got late. Oh, I forget again. He gassed and tried to negate the fight after having an early-rounds slugfest with a shockingly poor Bell.

Mormeck is no Basillo believe me.
Mormeck gassed against Bell as the fight was at incredible pace...Mormeck didnt gas in the rematch, he just boxed, if you call what Mormeck did "negate" the fight, then so did Ali in most Frazier fights, or so was doing Byrd in every fight...Mormeck piled up the 1st half of the fight by going to war, and then chose to box against a guy who was gueninely tougher and stronger, its called having brains and a gameplan...what's so wrong with that?...didnt Haye gas way earlier against an old man ?

so becuse Haye lost to Thompson early in his career, that means he loses to Mormeck later in his career?

Mormeck is on his last legs and can't even lift his arms up after 7 rds of fighting. Mormeck is going to lose soon and it might as well bs vs Haye!

Mormeck was blowing out of his arse in both fights, to say otherwise is a lie. Still, he will be the big favourite going into the fight, because he's proven himself at the top and he is a very good champion. It's a fight I feel Haye can win, but he's gonna be up against it. I'm looking forward to the fight a lot though, it's gonna be a good one. To be fair to all the top cruiserweights, they've really been stepping up to the plate in the last couple of years, more so than any other division in boxing. All the top guy's are fighting each other and it's Mormeck who is on top. That's a big achievement, because a lot of champions get to the top by careful match making or getting one big win.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who saw the rematch and thought it looked like a fight between men who had been up shagging Gianna Michaels all night.
Bell has always been technically very bad. He prides himself on stamina, power and durability. But Bell had a dead man in front of him and couldn't even finish it. I know it was hot in there but it looked like neither deserved to be champ. Great fight for 7 rounds but not the best pedigree, no way.

Even if Mormeck actually breaks you down , he still has to take his foot off ala his best ever performance, W12 vs Braithwaite.

I wouldn't be surprised if Haye and Macca were actually the best at the weight in the world.

Whats stupid about a joke?

I am a fan of some French boxers too, but I like to show Brit spirit.

You used to go on about how Bell lost to Dale Brown and he wouldn't have a chance against Mormeck and how Mormeck would dominate the cruisers, then the Heavyweights, now you say he's stronger and tougher?

You said once that only Wlad would trouble Mormeck at heavy too.

Looking forward to the fight, of late Haye's jab has looked quite effective and may make it more difficult for Mormeck to come forward if he uses it correctly. I also think that Haye's power will tire out the french man.

Will be a good fight though I think it could be close but think haye has it if he isn't too weight drained.

The Rodney King quote is fornicating disgusting though.

so because of Mormeck's 2 fights vs Bell you think he is going to gas and fade after round 7??
Haye also didnt look good in his fightg vs Frago where he got hit a lot fortunatly Frago doesnt hit hard...
Yes Haye is very dangerous and can KO Mormeck early but you guys are so confident on Haye winning this fight and you talk about my bias and national pride??? Heck i have national pride but im also sure if Haye was a yank you guys would be trashing him like shit !

when did i not respect him?
what i have basically been saying is that he has weaknesses and Mormeck could exploit them, and i was a bit surprised to see how confident here everyone was that Haye would beat Mormeck who has proven himself against other world champions...

Shit gets flushed, rubbish gets thrown, like words.

Most of us respect Haye because he has shown balls in his career and no amount of negative press releases from other promoters has changed that.

He said he would move fast in his career and he did, too fast.

He said he would move to heavyweight and he did, and then some.

He also said he is intent on fighting Mormeck and he is, in Paris.

You have to respect Haye.
Bingo!

Sure, he's got some flaws in his style, he's a bit cocky, yadda yadda yadda, but in today's climate where nobody wants to take risks in boxing, Haye has stepped up to the plate and put his bollocks where his mouth is (err, that's come out wrong), and for that, he's definetly got my respect.

Its gonna be a cracking fight. The majority of the British on here will back Haye to win and Raff and any other Frenchmen will back JMM to win.....and thats the way it should be. May the best man win

I think Haye has the potential to be the next British Boxing Superstar especially if he can get some ITV air time.

Haye is not scared to take a risk with his career, which is an extremely refreshing attitude in this day and age [cough...Warrens a prick]

Glad to see this one confirmed.

Haye had better do some damage in the first 3 rounds here, he doesn't have the workrate to box Mormeck for 12 rounds and win a decision.

That's my concern. Haye likes to fight at his own pace, and Mormeck, whilst being known for gassing late on recently, also fights at a blistering pace for many rounds.

Haye may need to box conservatively early and look to work an opening for a massive shot to take Mormeck out, or go for the kill really early, in the hope that it comes, then switch to a more conservative approach in the middle rounds.

It's an intriguing fight this one and no mistake.

Mormeck can be a monster but Haye plans to do to him what Foreman did to Frazier and what Lewis did to Tyson. If he can use his reach it could look like a size mismatch. Mormeck is big - sideways. As Terence has been saying, Jean Marc is so top heavy and his legs can barely support him.

Haye's problem is he fights from a bit of a squat and gives size away. However, I think he can make a concerted effort to use the jab, subtle lateral movement, enough heavy punching to get the Frenchman's respect and knock him out after 7 or 8 rounds.

Haye is a big man and he needs to boss JMM in the clinches, prepare a good hard uppercut. Definitely a style test for Haye - he likes nothing more than an upright European fighter, whether he's world class (Gurov) or European level/lower (Bonin).

The Haye v Fragomeni fight, far from showing he'd lose to Mormeck, is actually a GREAT practise run for this one. Sure JMM will hit harder than Frago, but he also won't have as much stamina.

Why am I the only one here who found that post a little bit creepy? I mean, we all know David’s a good looking lad who probably gets lots of action from the ladeez, but "imagine his morning routine…what a life."

You actually want to be David Haye, don’t you? Or at the very least become very close to him.

Just seen this. It is called putting yourself in someone else's shoes and hyping it up a little bit.

Obviously you are not an Eddie Murphey fan :TU:
Ha-ha, thought you'd like it. I've very ill today, so perhaps I'm being punished for my sarcasm.

Get well soon, not too soon though :TU:

Actually it is funny how you immediately knew which celebrity site to go to, I'm concerned.
Yes, it's amazing what you find on Wikipedia. Joking aside, I have to get the overnight train from Moscow to Helsinki tonight and I'm not looking forward to that. Also, it's a shared cabin, so my room mates won't be too impressed with my hacking and wheezing all night.
