Belshaw gets mashed up in car accident

Perhaps a bit of a dramatic headline, suggesting his career is in jeopardy. It says he has a broken kneecap and several broken ribs, but probably something he can recover from, unless his leg was really mauled.

Still, he'll be out for a while. Shame, as he was coming off an impressive performance.

Hopefully he will in time make a full recovery. Frank Bruno was also in a car crash last week, but got out of the car unhurt.

Too bad. I hope he makes a speedy recovery. At least he has time on his side. Fight with Rogan would have been good.

Get well soon Scott! Sorry to hear this news.

On a side note i was going to go to his recent fight at the Holiday Inn but when i rang the dodgy mobile phone line for tickets the squeaky voiced essex girl on the other end said it was £25 or £40 ringside pay on the door. Is this the going rate for tickets? Am i badly out of touch?

£25 for 3 novices and a debutant seemed a bit pricey to me, hence i didn't go anyway :P

Broken Kneecap sounds bad, depends how broken it is - Big guys put a lot of pressure on their joints and especially if they are sportsmen - Hopefully it will mend OK but it could be a problem for him as a pro boxer.

Broken Kneecap is bad, thats the injury that happened to me.
Its not the bones so much but all the tendons and ligaments around it. Plus you lose so much strength and muscle around the leg when its in plaster.

obviously he will get better Physio then i did, but it can be a very damaging injury, i've had 6 ops now , and its still no good when working at full pace.
