Darren Corbett pulled out of his WBU light-heayweight title fight with Tony Oakey last month because he said he injured his ribs when he ran into a pram doing roadwork. That never sounded feasible. And his former manager, Kevin Dever, has just revealed that the British Boxing Board of Control found in his favour in regard to a contractual dispute with Corbett.
"It was funny that he pulled out on the same day that Simon Block told me that I was entitled to my cut from his purse," said Dever of Corbett.
Is this the real reason Darren Corbett pulled out...

i was sceptical too but I met Corbett only days after he pulled out and it was obvious he was in pain. He looked in fantastic shape too and seemed gutted about the injury. Had he beaten Oakey (which considering the shape he was in was a real possibility) he would have got a multi fight contract from Warren so why would he have risked that over a small dispute.
