Alex drew as the ref deducted him a point in the last for low blows. From where i was sat (ringside) one of the two shots was borderline... personally thought marshall made a meal of it and alex had a point off. Even with the point off I had him winning by one, but thats boxing for you.

Ali oputpointed borovski in what was similar to their first fight. Borovski simply puts those gloves up and can absorb punches really well, you need only look at his record to see this one was always going the distance. Ali Hatton should be next!

wood should match thompson with ali, thompson would win and its pretty obvious wood could make alot more money of Thomson than he could Ali

why give hatton a chance, it would exactly make a load of cash that fight, we are talking about matthew, who is rather kak

I'm sure that Steve Wood will post up his views on this - so I'd rather not comment.

Persoanlly - I wouldn't like to see Ali V Thompson at this stage in their career .... I know both fighters and it would just kill me to see them in together!! I know that is a right pussy of an answer; but it's true!

I would, however, like to see either one of them in against Matthew Hatton.

With regards to Mark - I thought he done very, very well tonight. Given the fact he made a huge step up in class, and a step up in weight, and took the fight with late notice; he done excellent. I lot of up an coming fighters would have shied away from this fight - and not put themselves forward for it - not so with Mark. He put his unbeaten record on the line and fought with such heart.

Said it from day one that Mark is something special - and regardless of the result; last night proved it.

Onwards and upwards.......

not that i think hatton is a hard match for ali, but.....

if the intention is to match ali 'Hard' then it may as well be with one of 'his own'

althou i would be gutted for ali if he lost the belt cause there is nothing else he can fight for over here with him being african

Looking at the current top 10 brits at Welterweight; there are plenty of options for either Mark or Ali at that weight - I personally would keep them away form each other at this stage

thing is stegsie they are all good, and id give ali only a 50/50 chance of beating them

so from a purely business sense it would be better to match ali against thompson, then woods camp would still have the commonwealth belt

thats if ali is to fight any of the above next, otherwise i agree keep them apart

but if they are to take a risk it may as well be against thompson

Are they mates, or was it more a scouting mission to see if Dodson would be a good addition to "Team Hatton" (or is it Punch promotions or something like that). Does Tony want Ray to manage him?

Not sure eitherway - I just know Tony invited them down there.....

That looked a pretty nasty cut that Dodson got though - can't see him fighting for a while with that one. He looked good though.

Hats off to Thompson - he took a tough, demanding opponent on at short notice.

He gave a great account of himself, showed the Sky viewers what he is all about and raised his own profile whilst gaining valuable experince.

I wish more fighters and their managers would take such risks instead of over stating the importance of an unbeaten slate.

I for one will be keen to see Thompson's next fights and he has shown the sort of drive, ambition and self belief that far too many of todays up-and-comers lack.
