O2 BILL FIGHT DISCUSSION

Thought it might be fun to discuss the bill, pretty decent from where I am sitting and hope it holds up as looking forward to it. Got my ticket end of last week, waited as long as I could to see if the bill faltered but as yet its ok still. (Famous last words)

COOK/LUEVANO

Took a look at Luevano on tapes and he is a tidy boxer. He has good skills and a little bit more pop than his record might suggest. He has some strange ways about him though often pulling at his trunks (in 5 fights I have seen) he also fights small, he is quite a tallish guy but seems to crouch down and forward, uppercut could be a decent weapon against him. He is a brave lad when under pressure as well despite sometimes looking disorganised he throws back and does not let you pepper him without the fear of taking something useful in return. I am really looking forward to this one, I see very little between him and Cookie and thinks it is a genuine pick em fight. One thing that stood out for Cookie is that Luevano has plenty of body to aim at and Cookie can be good in that area, would be something the camp have already noticed no doubt.

SKELTON/SPROTT

Fancy Matt in this one unless the absence has hurt him and the years finally catch up. Cannot really see what Michael can do differently to what he has always done. Skelton will nullify the better skills of Sprott with his punch and maul routine and either stop him late again or take it on points.

MITCHELL/HRULEV

Not seen the visitor so hard to know what to expect but I like Mitchell more than most and think he will have plenty to say in some big fights in the coming few years. I think he has been harshly judged by some and his skills are decent, his power is more than respectable and he possesses a decent chin. I Also think he has a big heart. I would expect him to win this inside the distance.

SMALL/PRYCE

Could be the fight of the night for me this one, again find it hard to be sure who the winner will be, tend to lean to Small early or Pryce late on but think it could be a cracker.

KHAN/LIMOND

Good test for Khan. Hopefully those that have not been happy with his opponents so far cannot complain here and if he does a number on Willie, it must be viewed favourably, although I am sure the same old suspects will complain about it. I think he will be too quick and too powerful for the Scotsman and would expect a stoppage around the half way mark. If the kid turns out to have a chin I cannot see any reason why he would not win a proper title some day, he has the rest in abundance as far as I am concerned, still worried about the chin though.

Not sure if Jennings will actually fight as no opponent as yet, also looking forward to seeing Marsh/Dean, that should be a good scrap as well.

Still thats my views on the fight, what do the rest think

boxing monthly have gone for luevano against cook i would like cook to do it also sprott to win and rocky dean to win would be perfect results for me good luck lads

That was my prediction at BBN.

Sprott has remained busy since his loss to Skelton, and he has had some good confidence builers, especially the wins over Detweiller and Harrison, whilst Skelton has done very little since.

I fancy Sprott to take the fight to Skelton a bit more this time, rather than picking and poking, then capitulating when the big feller closes in on him.

There are a lot of people going with Sprott here. I hope he does it, but I can't help thinking Skelton might just wear him down again. If Sprott could barely find an inch of room last time, where is he going to find so much this time?

If Skelton isn't as "sharp" as normal having been out of the ring, then he could fight an even sloppier, dirtier fight than before, which wouldn't suit Sprott at all.
