Nelson gets a break; Delaney doesn't

Johnny Nelson defends his WBO cruiserweight title in Germany on November 15 against Alexander Petkovic. As Real Deal pointed out on here recently, the cruiserweight limit has just been increased to 14st 4lbs by the WBC, and all the governing bodies have followed suit (bar the IBF). That's good news for 36-year-old Nelson, who will find it easier to make the new cruiser limit than the old one of 13st 8lbs.
But it's not good news for Garry Delaney. The West Ham man defends his Southern Area cruiserweight title against David Haye next Friday and is really struggling to make the 13st 8lbs limit. The Boxing Board have not increased the limit.

Half a stone increase. That's fairly substantial too. Maybe Delaney should get 'injured' and the fight get postponed until the BBBC up the limit too.

It's actually a whopping 10 pounds. From 190 to 200 pounds.

Its silly why don't they leave things lie. I know Roy Jones, James Toney and Jaun Carlos Gomez have embarresed the heavyweight devision. But its still wrong.

Like changing the old strawweight to minimumweight - why??

I do know the reasons why, just think that tradition should be kept for certain things.
