Juuko's shot goes up in smoke
Because of a training injury, Jesus Chavez won't be defending his WBC super-featherweight title against Justin Juuko on November 21 as planned. The champion severely strained his right rotator cuff while sparring and doctors have advised that Chavez stay out of the ring for six to eight weeks.
I think maybe that Juuko should call it a day, he's been a solid contender but is now a faded figure as he showed in his match with Cotto which was barely competetive. He's been in with decent guys like Mayweather, Hernandez, Corrales and beat decent guys like Pep, Thornhill, Shepard and Ouma but maybe he should call time? Just a thought.
Good post. It's perhaps for the best the title fight was cancelled. Juuko would have only got a pounding.steve689 wrote:I think maybe that Juuko should call it a day, he's been a solid contender but is now a faded figure as he showed in his match with Cotto which was barely competetive. Yeah, I am afraid it would have been one-sided - still would have been supporting Juuko till the end though.bennie wrote:Good post. It's perhaps for the best the title fight was cancelled. Anybody know if the bill is cancelled, or has a new opponent been lined up.
