the guy who said he hopes it is ppv...Setanta is only 9.99 per month with no 12 month contract and the fights are likely to be shown as part of the sport pack therefore included.
Also if you check warrens website you will see there is boxing in September as well.

Yes, paying more for less or more for the same is bad news but I suspect overall this means more boxing on TV. Reading between the lines it seems that ITV are still interested in boxing and it looks like maybe they have a deal for the Khan fights. If it is now Sky, Setanta and ITV with a boxing budget, then we should get to see more fights on TV, simple as that.
Trevor East the top man at Setanta isn’t daft, and they’ve just done a deal so that it’s available through all platforms including freeview for £9.99 a month.
Also, now that they have what was previously the PPV prem league package, you’ll see loads of pubs getting setanta, so you can always go the pub to watch them.
Personally I need all the football anyway so paying £9.99 a month to setanta during the football season is basically the same as paying for what was prem plus.
Problem is it’s not in High-Def, but I was a naïve d1ck head for not doing more due diligence when I signed up for HD anyway….

despite having to shell out more, it's better with more parties involved. if you only had one channel covering stuf,f they'd get complacent. with competition, we get more fights, more variety - and this is good unless they start going head to head on the same day like HBO and Showtime sometimes do.
This is interesting. With Warren's old ITV contract, wasn't it for something crazy like a show every month or something? Khan on ITV, Setanta seemingly getting the championship stuff, and of course new deals can be made. It's good that there are no lengthy deals here.

Judging by your posts you seem to know a fair amount about Setanta's boxing deal... I'm guessing that maybe you have some involvement with Setanta? Appologies if I am wrong.
Can you clarify that say if there is 5 boxing shows a year shown... I could view them all for £50.... Not £120 quid.
So Setanta will now be a no 12 month contract at all times, and not just this time with the Hatton vs Castillo fight.
Also, when would I need to cancel if say there is only 1 boxing show that month.

The worrying aspect that still hasn't been cleared up is what EXACTLY is the deal/s. What happens if Warren has got Exclusive deals with both. It doesn't necessarily mean more boxing unless Setanta and/or ITV showcase bills from abroad or from other promoters.

Thats a superb point, Boxing is back because our 2 big networks are starting a war that can only benefit subscribers, theres been great fights on paper from across the pond that Sky wouldnt show because they didnt have too, now with Setanta putting severe pressure on Sky, Fightfans are going to see a hell of a lot more 'big-fights' then before...

If channels are doing 5-7 fight deals, this is good. They're not crippling themselves financially (surely), they're not limiting their own coverage by only showing fights by one promoter, and they surely have money left over for other fights and other fighters.

2) That ITV / Setanta are particularly interested in showing many promotions involving many different promoters. Perhaps both cannot be arsed except for Hatton/Calzaghe in Setanta's case and Khan in ITV's case. Untill this is clarfied I will not be happy.
I think we all thought everything would be rosey when Warren signed for ITV. We all thought that guys like Hennesey / Matchroom / FA would be filling the Friday night slot in addition to the Warren's ITV stuff. Unfortunately we are probably having less hours of boxing now - cause Henessey / Matchroom / FA do not have the stable to put on weekly shows.
Hmm, but I think it was you that came up with this valid point. That last time, with the whopper exclusive deal, it was because ITV wanted Hatton and Khan which soon went a bit pear shaped with Hatton defecting. I'm not sure what happening with Setanta. I thought they had secured ALL Warren's big/world title fights from November. Not sure what ITV will get and what Setanta will get...But Setanta do have contracts with Hobson and Warren...maybe Joe v Woods could happen after all if Joe keeps winning.
This would be a mark of progress for sure, rival camps for a big British bout.
