Luan vs Thompson

Post by BubiScholz »

I Have to say that Luan was disappointing me. his time is over. thompson, a 2nd class guy, beat him obviously. a shame. this is the end of german heavy boxing.

"Tony The Tiger"!!!

Post by HeavyHitters »

What did I tell you all!?

I told you "Tony The Tiger" would easily win this fight. I was thinking more of a shut out thru 12 rounds, but hey, he got Lulu out of there early. Thompson is alot better than msot people want to give him credit for. Now they will probably NOW give him his deserved credit!!

Bubi, nice to see you back.
I actually rate Tony and wouldnt be surprised if he went on to beat Ibragimov if they fight for the WBO belt.

You are right though, i think Luan has passed his best. Lovely guy who fell short in his biggest fighters.

A great ambassador for the sport though. Always immaculately spoken and immaculately dressed.

If I undetstood it correctly, then Thompson will fight Dimitrenko next due to the unification match.

Luan had his prime in 2005 and showed a great fight vs Brewster. After the fight he had a long injury break that was too long. He was the only german heavyweight boxer who had the potentiel to catch a world title. maybe he has chosen the wrong way.

I've always thought that Thompson has ability at the top end of the division, he's not great to watch, but hard to beat.
His style of a good jab, and a solid straight right hand means he can fight at a distance , also he keeps a good workrate up, and has excellent fitness. Which is why i would pick him over Maskaev , Ibragimov or Chagaev .
