Pryce V Small

Post by rooney »

Who do you fancy for this one? think it will be a really good fight.

Would love Bradley to KO him, but I think Small is the genuine light middle but he overrates himself.

Bradley is a welter IMO, but he can outpoint him if he doesnt get stuck in a war

He has to get stuck into him as he isn't going to outbox Small. Going to be a good scrap I reckon! :TU:

Would like Pryce to win after all the setbacks he's had in his career but Small definitely has somewhat of a decent dig and Pryce has been ko'ed by smaller men (Sinclair, Olsegun, Bami) - rekon Small will stop Pryce in about 6 - wouldn't mind being wrong tho! :TU:

Small was on dodgy legs there, he was staggering about there when complaining about the stoppage.

Well done Pryce!

when it happened live i thought it was the worst stoppage, but on the replay the ropes where holding him up, it wasnt a good or bad stoppage, somewhere in between.

Would have liked to see it go on a bit longer, just to remove any ambiguity, but from the moment that hook landed the result wasn't in doubt. Glad the Small hype train has been brought to a shuddering halt - talk about talking the talk without being able to walk the walk...

Pretty much agree with Real Deal's views. When I first saw it I thought that Small wasn't kidding but wasn't BADLY hurt. I thought "worst than Calzaghe vs Manfredo". On replay you could see that Small was gone. However, I think he was recovering.. he took that big shot which staggered him to the ropes - but by the end he was parrying and slipping quite effectively. I thought he was coming back to his senses and should have been allowed to continue.

Think the result wasn't in doubt from the round previous.... Small was trying and had lost power in his punches. Before then he was hurting Pryce.

Small had all the ingredients to beat Pryce if he stuck to a coherent gameplan. He shouldn't have went peakaboo on the ropes and let Pryce steal portions of the rounds. He may well have stamina issues and explains why he can not sustain some of the side to side and angled delivery of punches over the course of a fight. Nevertheless he lost and the stoppage was probably right given that he couldn't hold his feet even when he protested.

Good fight mind. I had Small slightly ahead but you could see a momentum shift from around the fifth. Shame it didn't follow the Khan fight on ITV1 really as oppsed to the shambles that was Skrlton - Sprott II.

It was an entertaining fight for sure.Small at times looks like the real deal but then just gets a bit carried away with himself and ends up in trouble like he did against Walter Wright and now he's come unstuck here.

The stoppage was a tough one to call really, he was getting hit with some hefty shots but he did look as though he might be able to carry on and get out of danger.

I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch to be honest.Small has got something about him but he's still got a fair bit to learn.

Even if Small comes back from this, he will always be strickly domestic class. Over the weekend we have learned alot about Levels, the primary reason why Small was in the fight at all was cause of his punch power... but Pryce has been hurt on many occasions in his career - not weaked chinned, but no Steve Collins.

Small MIGHT catch Pryce in a rematch... but the Light Middles of Bradley Pryce's level and more durable would beat him everytime.

small couldn't walk properly for about 30 secs after the stoppage. Ref did him a favour. He was less than articulate in the post fight interview as well.
