if i was jon thaxton

Post by boxerbob »

i would be screaming for a shot at amir khan , thaxton only needs 1 punch against him.

thaxton can take a punch aswell , i very much doubt if allegedly and khan would want this match

Jon Thaxton would muller Khan. Lee Meager would give Khan all the trouble he could handle.

they'll wait till Thaxton's shoulder starts to hinder him more. Or till he slows down. If he has to have daily physio, they'll leave it till he's (relatively, and for want of a better word) decrepit.

Olusegun would make mincemeat out of Amir. He's the Commonwealth 140 and has outclassed the Commonwealth 147 and 154 champs FFS! Despite his arrogance he would do bad thngs to the boy.

Thaxton would take the fight no doubt and win big time but it isnt going to happen - ITV, FW and all concerned want the show to go on and make a lot of money out of Khan - This fight with Limond has proved a disaster, but a fight with Thaxton would end the Khan dream - Khan isnt the best domestically and I think in time he could at best get the European belt but a world title, no - He definately isnt another Naz who proved early on he had enough to cut it with most of the best - You could argue it was a bit early to put Khan in with Limond but if Khan really was the business he would have done so much better and wouldnt have been dropped by a light puncher - He needs a new trainer who can teach him better defense and better head movement - Had that punch come from Thaxton he wouldnt have got up - As it is I think he was counted out because his head wasnt clear and he wasnt quite sure what he was doing when he went down again - Another fighter wouldnt have got away with it but boxing on ITV depends on Khan winning so he was allowed to continue.

Thaxton should forget about Khan as that fight will never happen no matter how much he calls for it.

Thaxton TKO 8 Khan. :box:

Jon might question you misuse of the subjunctive. He would rightly tell you it should be "If I were Jon Thaxton," not was.

Khan unleashes just the kind of attack that has accounted for Thaxton in the past. It would be plain daft to see this as a 1 horse race!

Possibly, but by the time the fight comes around I doubt anyone will be investing too heavily in that kind of result.
