That reminded me of Gatti v Gamache.

I thought Cintron submitted fairly easily to Margarito, but he looked a different fighter tonight. Awesome punching.

Yeah agree, I went for Mattheyese primarily cause of Cintron's effort vs Margarito. However, he looked good before that and seems to have recovered well from the lost.

With that power and hand speed, he could be problems for anybody. Expect him to be avoided as the "weaker" champion.

What a devision this is.

Cintron's starting to look like Pavlik. Upright, powerful, composed. IMO that loss to Margarito made a man of him. Lot of Margo bashing after last night, but Antonio's win now looks so much better and IMO keeps him in the big fight running too.

I had Margo beating Williams last night, 7-5 btw, and ringside press were split on who deserved the nod.

Cintron is an improving fighter, but Mosley is all wrong for him imo. I thought Mathysse had a good chance of beating him because of the Margarito result, but he was a level above. Kind of makes the welter scene a lot more interesting now though. With Margarito losing, I reckon the logical fights to make are Williams-Mosley and Cotto-Cintron. What an excellent pair of fights that would be.

Scorecard please - how anyone gave Margarito any of the first 5 or the final round begs belief. I had it 9-3 or 8-4 - clear for Willaims

the best division in boxing at the mo, thought williams did enuff in the early rnds 2 win it.IMO, hatton needs 2 move up.

This brutal KO was obviously going to happen but you have to feel for the referee. If he'd have stopped it on the knockdown before this, there would have been hell on. I think, rather like the Johanneson fight, it would have been better all round for it to have been waved off earlier.

Yeah it was a Hearns like KO wasn't it, that last left hook was a frightening punch. Thought ref was ok....

But the ref in the Gatti fight was a complete f***k up. Someone retire him quick.

After all those wars he should have looked out for Gatti, who was obviously on his last legs. Even after failing to stop it, he lets Gatti get battered to the canvas - THEN decides to give him the full count as well - was he planning on letting it go on, if Gatti had dragged himself up?

Thank God that guy jumped into the ring and told the idiot ref to wave it off.

No Steve it was on the Gatti card.

They were both teeing off on eachother pretty much from the start, but it was Cintron who produced the real bombs at the end.

Surprised HBO are still showing Gatti fights. I think Showtime are leading the way at the moment on quality bouts in US Boxing.

Not sure I agree, both are doing pretty good.

I don't think HBO would show Gatti's next bout, but I think Gatti will definately remain retired this time.

I read that of Gatti's 9 consecutive appearances at Boardwalk Hall this had the smallest gate and i expect that was reflected in the PPV too. No-one wants to see him take yet another beating and it's getting less finanically viable. That said he still made $1.7M compared to Gomez' $200k

I have no idea what 'ringside press' Autobarn is talking about. 99.9% of the ringside press had the fight as a far wider decision for Williams and pretty much all the TV pundits agreed. I had colleagues at the fight and I've watched it a couple of times. The win for Williams wasn't even remotely controversial
