I do not say this lightly - I have seen a lot of boxing matches in my time, from big cards to tiny shows all over the fecking place.

I truly believe this was THE WORST BOXING MATCH I HAVE EVER SEEN.

It was a poor maych but I have seen worse. Nelson - DeLeon, Nelson - Warring, Calzaghe - Starie etc.

AGAIN there was talk of the winner getting a World Title shot, I will believe it when I see it. I think Skelton vs Harrison is more likely to happen, which will be a shame for many reason. To be honest I would like to see Skelton get a World Title shot as despite last nights fight he always turns up in shape and fights as hard in the 12th round as he does in the 1st.

Seen some bad fights myself and I have to agree with your assessment.

Talk of a world title shot is ridiculous. Skelton would get absolutely battered by any of the champions. Imagine what Klitschko's jab and left hook would do to him? He'd decapitate him.

Only if Skelton stays on the outside ,Klitscho isn,t much of an infighter
and dosn,t fight well under constant pressure.

If Fr ank Warren tries to foist that one on us ITV viewers, I thnk I may have to officially tender my resignation as a boxing fan!

Can you imagine how that fight would pan out?

Audley would burst into tears as soon as Skelton starts rough housing him, that's providing his stamina allows him to remain standing long enough for Matt to rough him up!!!!!!

Sorry Thaibox, but well I admire and like Skelton, the idea that he could operate at world level is laughable. Even a relatively raw novice like Povekin would pound him for 12 rounds, while the likes of the Klitschkos and Sam Peter would destroy him.
I don't feel you're really acknowledging the gulf in class between operating at British level and at world level in this division - it's massive.

What Im saying is is that none of them are flawless and if someone like Ruiz can do it then so could Skelton. The standard outside Klitscho isn,t that great and even he hasn,t shown he can turn a fight around that hese losing or adapt under constant pressure which is what Mat brings.

No not every boxer out there can, I'm afriad.

There is also a difference between a strong jab and a fast jab. Bruno's wasn't a fast jabber in global terms in his pomp (powerfull jab, but slow). However, compared to anything Skelton has faced its like Larry Holmes.

Williams could hardly move his hands in that shape, Sprott refused to.. and he aint fought anyone else of much cop at all.

I think Matt's "constant pressure" would soon evaporate once he tasted the type of power the top men of the division bring to the table. For all Ruiz's flaws, he's still some way better than Skelton, even if they have a similar style.
