Channel 5. They show the ESPN Friday Night Fights every week a little over 24 hours after the event which I think is bloody brilliant as you can watch the fights without knowing the results.

On saturday night we got Lonnie Bradley getting stopped (foolishly overmatched for such an inactive fighter), Angel Vasquez getting taken apart over 3 tough rounds (remember this guy was going to smash up Naz once?) and then hot prospect Bernard Dunne having to get off the floor to win. That's good value.

Damn i never realised Bernard Dunne was on Channel 5, i saw the Vasquez-Bradley fight but i was in Blackpool at the time and had just rolled into my B+B, so as you can imagine i was wrecked after a hard nights clubbing and subsequently fell asleep moments after the stoppage :D

Slightly off topic, just what has been everybodies channel 5/Espn bill so far. By the sounds off it Saturdays one was pretty impressive.

I didn't see Saturday's one, so my favourite has to be Virgill Hill vs Donny Lanlonde. It was a fun fight and Hill showed there's a fair bit left. Enough to beat Johnny Nelson I fear.

I also enjoyed the fact that they showed Paz vs Duran II, I know both were over the hill but it was still intriguing nevertheless.

Any thoughts??

I thought the Courtney Burton v Angel Manfredy showdown was a good one, great packed out venue and Burton was a revelation. Although I don't think it was actually a FNF. God did anyone see Manfredy interviewed recently? (I think it was during Victorano Sosa's recent fight) Talk about in denial. His excuses for the Burton loss sounded pitifull although he did come back with a win at the weekend.

I thought JC Candelo's comments about "Mrs Fernando Vargas" a while back were hilarious. I'd like to see those two get it on. Candelo is quality and might just be too fresh IMO.

Yes, I saw him fight on 5 recently to. Apparently, Wright won by a near shut out and did pretty much what he liked with Candelo. The Candelo performance really showed how good Wright is. Very much a threat for Hopkins.

Its a strange deal that channel 5 have with ESPN, cause they show the fights - but then haven't got the rights all of the time. Harrison 2nd fight in the US was shown on ESPN but not 5, also occasionally (usually on a US PPV) Sky show the Friday night fight show. I remember they showed the recent performance of Verno Phillips vs Bronco McKart, where Phillips showed just how lightly he took Paul Silky Jones all those years ago.

The Wright v Candelo fight was shown on Setanta over here. It wasn't too exciting but Candelo was just edging things for me after 8 but then Wright really gritted his teeth and pulled back a decision. (that's my memory of it anyway)

Yeah I really like the look of Verno Phillips these days, I think he'd piss all over our light middles as would Candelo. Haven't seen Ouma yet.

Yeah, it was on the Ruiz vs Jones undercard. I didn't bloody well see it thanks to the incompeties of Sky/Setanta who couldn't figure out why I couldn't get a signall. Found out that one of the cables had bent which affected the signal range. I'm still pissed that I missed that bill.

So what I wrote is going on what other people said, they claimed the Wright was in control throughout. It doesn't matter (to me) if he just won or won by miles its still an excellent victory.

Oh an I agree with you about Phillips. I would have given Williams some hope before he got exposed by Martinez. But now, he's seems to be in a different class. I want to see Phillips vs Santos.
