He's IRISH

just kidding I'm not going to go through that today however I dod have his nickname - "The Derry Destroyer"

also I note that the undercard for his homecoming fight (cough*in Ireland*cough) is not listed - the undercard fighters include -

Paul McCloskey, Kevin O’Hara, Declan Timlin and Eugene Heagney.

No ones oppoent has yet been named.

Would you rather have him be the Derry Destroyer over Ireland's John Duddy? I feel like the Ireland in his nickname kind of mitigates the whole nationality flap. If he's the Derry guy, then people won't know that he considers himself Irish.

John Duddy's fight name is "Ireland's John Duddy". He was named the "Derry Destroyer" by the Irish press, which I suppose they're welcome to do so....BUT he's officially known as "Ireland's.... and we all know how BoxRec strives to be accurate.

He prefers to be Irish, thats his nationality, and he uses an Irish passport not a british one.

My opinion is that fighters DO NOT get to pick their ring name -- leave that to the wits in the press!
