Never been able to understand people who watch poor quality pirate DVDs.

People in work will say "Saw the new James Bond film last night" (example) and I'll say "But it's not even out at the cinema yet", "yeah downloaded/brought a pirate copy, quality is a bit crap but I least I saw it early"...

This leaves me utterly gobsmacked. These are people on good salaries happy to comprimise the quality and therefore enjoyability of a film so they can say they 'saw it early'. Complete fuckwits.

£3.50 from Blockbuster and you can watch in good quality (even better with the advent of HD) and even cheaper if you do the rental thing that Jim suggested.

I'm giving up 2-3 hours of my life to watch a film, £3.50 to make it that bit better and be able to understand what they are saying is just chump change.

Well, I don't buy pirate DVD's. As I said, the quality is shite, and to be honest, I don't want to put money in the hands of organised criminals, which is precisely what people are doing.

These operations are funded by nasty bastards who are involved in prostitution, slavery and the importation of drugs, the people who sell them are probably illegal immigrants who work for a pittance, there's a lot of it going on in the chinese community.

An operation last year in Chinatown, discovered restaurants were using workers who were virtually illiterate chinese illegal immigrants, who slept in dosshouses about 20 to a room, and were paid something like the equivalent of 60 pence an hour.

I've watched a couple of pirate DVD'S lately (that my mate has brought round

) and the quality has been excellent, you can hardly tell the diff from normal TV.

Pirate DVD's are just convenient, no need to phone or sign-up to anything, no need to even get off the settee.

Yeah, the wankers have only shown half the bloody last season, so you have to wait now until next year for the rest of it, by which time you won't be able to remember the continuity of the show.

I got the second disk for series 6 the other day, but for some reason I cannot copy it to my hard drive, think maybe it's scratched.

Thing is, reason I'm doing this is so I can watch these things at my leisure, I'm not really ripping anyone off.

Just got the Royal Tenenbaums to add to my collection.

On another note, just watched The Jerk again the other night, definetly one of the funniest films ever made. Didn't realise it was made in 1979.......didn't Steve Martin EVER look young? I bet he was born looking like that. That film was nearly 30 years ago, yet I swear he looks identical now.
