Bad news, I said Enzo would win coming in because Truck wasn't what he used to be, which I never thought was much anyhow. His best win was against Dale Brown a few years ago......Autobarn wrote:have you seen Braithwaite fight before? His balance is never usually that great. This time he was in with a guy with a smashing long jab. That's enough to make anyone's legs look bad.thepocketrocket wrote:From the word go he looked off balance and his balance was shot..plenty of fighters can keep a decent punch resistance yet fail to get any snap..SticknMove wrote:Braithwaite shot? Some people come out with total bollocks at times.
A shot fighter by any definition describes a fighter that can not hold a shot like they used to and get stopped because of it. Hardly describes Braithwaite.
He shipped a lot of punishment there, especially the body punches. No wonder the timing was off kilter when subjected to that and being backed up, outhustled and still getting caught with quality shots.
Not wanting to denegrate Mac who looked class, good countering and cracking jab...
Macca had him covered from every angle. Better repertoire, better technique, bigger, stronger and looking a full division bigger. All reasons why I felt Macca would win this one without doubt.
So are all those who said, "Braithwaite has fought better opponents, he will knock Macca out" now saying "Braithwaite was shot."
Jones had leg cramps for two rounds and I still had him up 2-1 going into the 4th and final round. Sorry, but the leg cramps didn't come from "Body work" from Truck. I saw the fight and it deserved to be stopped. I'm wondering if you saw the fight to be honest......Autobarn wrote:oh,armageto wrote:He hasn't looked all that great as of late, let's be real here. He was getting his ass handed to him by J.M.M. until his roids caused him to bomb out the 2nd half of the fight, like so many other fights for him. Jones easily stopped him in 4 rounds in his next fight. I never thought much of Big Truck. Good win for Enzo because he is a big step up from his other opponents, but I'd be hard pressed to have Big Truck even in my top 15 CW's.....nickd wrote:Braithwaite is not shot that is a ridiculous comment, a shot fighter wouldn't have taken the punishment he has tonight and still be standing.
give
it
a rest
Jones easily stopped Braithwaite? Jones went all out round one. Took a body beating rds 2 and 3, wincing in pain and his leg gives out. Went all out in rd 4. Ref stops Braithwaite who was surviivng but not hitting back. Controversial stoppage. WB stopped @ end of round, slipping punches. Jones in no condition to go on, collapses with leg cramps.
Granted, Braithwaite is a flawed fighter, but a very powerful hitter with a good chin & a top finisher.
Back to my point, I said all along Enzo would win. Braithwaite, IMO, has never been a great fighter. He has one good win against Dale Brown a few years back. Anybody remember anything else?
I'm not trying to discredit Enzo at all, great win for him. My whole point is let's not make him the 2nd coming of Christ here. He's still yet to face a top 10 fighter or even 15, depending on where you put Truck at.....
Don't know if anybody else can confirm, he was also 'Stupot' in Grange Hill?!!! I was gobsmacked when I saw him in the ring last night!Terry D wrote:110% the guy. Well, "Kev" as I have been calling him - just dropped a clanger.... Wrong fight!
Ah: Just found out... TThat guy from Operation Good Guys - Is Kev from the ad..... and I think it IS the bloke on the MC.
When he made a hash of it you could hear him pressing on as people were shouting him and asking him to stop. Bring back fake crowd noise I say. And 'Benny Hill'.
Rees gave it a go in the first round.

Braithwaite was Guyanese. Excellent performance from Enzo, was Braithwaite a bit past it? Well he had a good few losses coming in and I didn't rate Guillermo Jones who put Braithwaite away but then again only saw him against NelsonTwisted Transistor wrote:The Americans are trying to jump In with excuses already.

Wasn't the Jones stoppage contriversial too and Mormeck gassed out against Braithwaite.
The Jones fight was a good stoppage, IMO. I could see why the ref stopped it. Mormeck gassed out (what else is new?) in the 2nd half of his fight with Braithwaite. That's what allowed Truck to make it a little close on the cards and get some late rounds. For the most part, Mormeck dominated him when his stamina was there.....Twisted Transistor wrote:True but he based himself In New York.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:Braithwaite was Guyanese. I knew it the minute I saw him, and of course from those car adverts with 'Kev' and 'Bev'.
