2 new 'world' champs, well one and a half. And 3 champions in one weight division!

And a step up taken impressively by Maccarinelli.

And way better fare served up than last weeks effort IMO.

yeah great night for british boxing although the imports all seemed to under perform.

Still. nights like this and boxing will soon be popular again.. just keep obvious stinkers like Skelton off the box....

Mbaye may never have been the best champ but for gods sake, ive never seen him premotely this bad, that was appaling..

Something must have been wrong cos he seemed disinterested..all he needed to doo was fire back after Gav steeped away following his little burst..Gav would have been worn out aftter 6 and he would still be champ

I dont think anyone is expecting a long reign from Rees, but you can only beat who is put in front of you and he did an admirable job tonight. No one can ever take that WBA title victory away from him..

Dunno what was up with M'Baye, he just didnt look interested/motivated dod he?

Not Gav's fault M'Baye found him awkward.

Not Gav's fault M'Baye found him awkward.

I dont think he found him awkward, I think he found him a pain in the arse with his workrate but when Gav was doing nothing(which was quite often) he would just stand there...very very poor

But Rees went above and beyond expectation...im delighted

What a devision we have domestically at Light Welter now.

I'm just doing the ratings - that will hopefully be up tonight. I have Ashley Theophane... a guy who won an eliminator - well beating Bosworth... at 10.

There is no room for the likes of Nigel Wright.

3 world champions, 3 current or former EBU champions (all 3 never lost the title in the ring) 6 British champions at various weights (only 3 have gone onto bigger things so far). Its only Theophane who hasn't bagged a major title.

Always said this card was better than the O2 one.

Was a good night, was enjoying watching it this morning until my Sky+ recording finished.

Page 1 - Always set Sky+ to record the program scheduled AFTER the boxing as well, it cut out for me just as they were about to announce the Rees scores.

Did they show the Arthur fight after?

I was thinking Arthur lost because I could see him ringside during the Enzo fight and he looked quite bashed up!

Enzo really impressed me by his all round boxing...I`m beginning to fancy his chances against haye on that showing.

But soon he`ll have to fight somebody who will know how to deal with his size..or lack of.....I just don`t see where he can find an easy mandatory...or is Fwank gonna tempt Hatton back onto one of his bills

...was gonna suggest Khan....but Reese Ko`s him or just beats him too bad over the course of the fight.....me thinks Hatton

Mbaye never looked one bit interested in the fight. From the start, when he went back to his corner in the early rounds, he wasn't even paying attention to what his corner's instructions.

Mbaye seemed more concerned with who was in the crowd, he was looking at them so much!

Mbaye's corner was quite a contrast to Rees'. Enzo Calzaghe never let his man be content, was always telling him like it is, motivating him to do better etc. That's what a corner should be about.

In my view, Mbaye showed no passion at all.

Did you record ITV1? They showed the main event and highlights of the Rees fight after. Rees and Arthur's full fights were shown from 7.45 on ITV4 and finished plenty before the end of the broadcast.

Kotelnik might be Rees mandatory.

Wonder how Gav will do against a guy who's slow and most covers up and barely does a thing In the earl rounds.

Sounds like I missed the ITV4 broadcast altogether, should have paid more attention to the scheduling.
