wow...what a shocker.....i still maintain that Rees didn't deserve a title shot, but he certainly proved he was good enough....
...we can't kid ourselves though...I don't think i seen such a blatent case of a fighter undesestimating his opponent like that on Saturday.....Rees' record, rather than having the negative effect of unpreparing Rees for a title opportunity, had the possitive effect of Mbaye's subsequent complacency...
Rees is a blown up lightweight, and won't be taken lightly again....however long he reigns for...he has just taken a massive leap in his boxing career and now, will hopefully never turn back

Dangerous ground...but my thoughts entirely.c_phillips wrote:it looked to me as if the champion had been paid to make gavin look good after all he is warren boy lets see if gav defends the title or just hang on to it untill khan goes for it in about 7 months time to make khan youngest world champion it looks very fishy to me and most of the viewing public
I can only put it down to a combination of a career best performance from Rees and M'Baye totally underestimating him, which I can actually understand.
Fair play to Gavin
, won the fights hand down. Even if M'Baye didn't look like the fighter he once was, Rees took the opportunity with both hands. Talk about ripping the title away from the champion.
Will Rees be allowed to stay in this class ? All the world bodies have their faults, but surely the WBA won't allow their title to be used as cheaply as the WBU ???
