Fair enough, the cuts were pretty bad, I doubt he would have fought before then anyway.

On medical grounds this is pretty usual. At least they are looking after his health.

He could probably do with the rest, anyway. A twelve round fight would take a lot out of a fighter. The Diaz -v- Diaz fight is not until November anyway. The winner of that will probably not fight again until the new year. Katsidis will probably have a non-title fight before fighting the winner.
