this should be fun....everyone throw theres in...
1. Vic Darchinyan 27-0. best flyweight in the world IMO and our only "true" world champ. i think with his exposure in the US he will start to get the big fights.
2. Anthony Mundine 27-3. most people rank him at no3 super middle in the world, which is impressive because the 168lb division is full of talent. like him or hate him you cant deny the man has skills.
3. Sam Soliman 33-8. good wins over the likes of Joval, Hamdan and Ornelas. now finnaly gets the chance to fight for a world title. i think mundine will have to much for him but i hope im wrong. i like sammy, he seems like a nice guy.
4. Micheal Katsidis. 22-0. new interim WBO champ and one to watch for the future. only 26 years old, i think rocky will be our next boxing superstar ala fenech and tszyu.
5. Paul Briggs 25-3. not sure how much paul has left after two close wars with ademek. heard he didnt look very impressive in his last fight either. will be intresting to see what he does next.
6. Lovemore N'dou. 45-8-1. coming off his most impressive win to date. would like to see him in the ring with some other top 140'ers.
7. Danny Green. 23-3. looks rejuvinated at LHW after last years dissapointing showing against mundine. hope he can win a world title before he retires.
8. Daniel Dawson. 26-0. has enormous talent but seems content fighting stiffs.
9. Robert Medley. 17-0. suprise inclusion.....watched him a few times and he looked good. brought up on the ussual Asussie boxer diet of taxi drivers form the phillipenes but im hoping he steps up soon.
10. Sakio Bika 22-2-2. a bit overatted for me....but still good enough to make the top ten. recently moved up to LHW....would like to see him and Danny Green face off this year.

8. Gary St. Clair

10. Hussein Hussein
1 & 2 seem pretty simple
3-5 was hard to rate (can order them differently)
6 & 7 just a cut below as they come up short in biggest fights
8-10 these are my picks but there are several others who qualify.

I totally forgot about the Hussien Brothers i would put Hussy in my list at 8 in front of Ndou and Nedal in the 11-15 bracket.JAHamilton77 wrote:1. Vic Darchinyan

I didnt put Geronko, Solopov or Oganov in there as i didnt know if they are Australian citizens or not.
I would put these three all around the 15- 25 area and move the bottom 3 out.

Where is Pittman
Geez top 25 and no mention of Jamie "Mr Business" Pittman.
He just won the PABA and WBO asia pacific - he is the worlds biggest middleweight at 6'1 and makes the 72kg no probs

ben,
Big effort to do a top 25 mate! The bottom 10 are pretty weak (due to our 'depth' of fighters not your choosing) and Dib in the top ten is an interesting inclusion and personally I don't think Mirovic belongs on any list other than "All Time Worst Fighters". But like I said overall a big effort

Re: Where is Pittman
You stole my post. I was gonna say it's strange that no one has even mentiond Pittman. I'd have him ahead of the like of Geale and Dawson.king_kali_rocks wrote:Geez top 25 and no mention of Jamie "Mr Business" Pittman.

I also forgot Nader Hamden and Porky Lovett, I did the list off the top of my head and didnt take a long time to think about it.walford wrote:You stole my post. Im going to redo my list in the next few days and maybe extend it to top 30.
Yeh your right i think if i had Hamden and Lovett instead of Mirovic and Haumono the list would look better, I also left out Meehan as i think he is a Kiwi and Geronko, Solopov and Oganov as im not sure i there Aus citizens.Marlin wrote:ben,

Hard list to make. Styles dictate everything here. I'll throw a few questions/comments out there before I commit to my list.
Mundine easily outpoints Katsidis, Darchinian, Briggs, Green, Lovett & Ndou yet struggles with the style of St Clair & Pittman. (but still wins)
Dib vs T Brown??? I say Brown.
Actually Dib gets KO'ed by all the pressure fighters with any sort of power.
Bika vs Soliman??? I say Bika (but must be at fittest)
Soliman vs Briggs??? I say Soliman (Briggs just doesn't get off)
Green vs Geal??? Green KO (while behind on points)
Both Hussien boys beat Darchinian, Dib, Geal, Dawson, St Clair, Pedan, Medley & Ndou
Look forward to comments.

Its hard to do a list like this but i think Katsidis constant pressure would be to much for Mundine, Siaca managed to beat him and he isnt half the pressure fighter that Katsidis is. Dib and Brown is hard to pick.ABC wrote:Hard list to make. Styles dictate everything here. I'll throw a few questions/comments out there before I commit to my list.

I put him in at 21, I will go through my list as i only took 15 minutes to do it and relist them.Grant wrote:Where does Shannon Taylor rate?
Although he is long past his best and his decision to continue fighting is somewhat strange I still believe if people are going to consider Big Bob then Taylor must be in the mix somewhere.

Taylor is way past it, and was never that great to begin with. Word has it that Robbie Bryant (4-0-1) had the better of him in sparring over 6 rounds before he even turned pro.Where does Shannon Taylor rate?
