How come all these rumours are flying around about Khan-Earl? I dn't believe 'em.

I can believe Khan-Lawton, as based on results he's somewhere between Bull and Thaxton.

Funny thing is, if Rees hadn't been given that world title opportunity, he may have been considered the next logical step up from Limond.

I think people who give Rees a decent shout vs Kotelnik are comparing their performances vs two very different Soulymane Mbaye's. The Mbaye who scraped a lucky draw vs Kotelnik at least tried to fight.

Remember Kotelnik dealt with Muhammad Abdulaev with ease, Abdulaev is quite similar to Rees in style.... Rees might be better though.

Frank has already said Khan will not be challenging for a world title during the next 12 months, so thats that - Rees is too good and too risky for Khan who needs to get to 18 and 0 before going for a world title - I still think he will find his level at Euro at best - Even British looks elusive at the moment with Jon Thaxton holding the belt - Khan is good but he isnt a Naz.

a typically boring quote from warren then.

i agree that he's not ready.

but why not go for it and find out for a change.

a chance to become youngest british champion ever is worth the risk i say.

I think Kotelnik is too steady and strong for Rees. Rees did a great job of winning a title and 'conning' his opponent when he was tired, but I doubt he keeps it over a tough mandatory.

M'Baye is passive, chronically so. He never acts, but rather reacts. This is why Balbi had him hurt early, why he only tried to steal rds with Kotelnik 2, and why he did eff all vs Rees.

I also hear he had similar problems with Harris - the talent was there but after getting dropped, the willingness wasn't there.

I could see Khan beating Rees, but he'd have to give the title away afterward after squeezing in soft defenses.

M'Baye, in most of his fights, boxes with the kind of pace I muster up after a late-night Friday session on the old Doobie.

Rees was given a perfect plan and executed it well. Credit to him, M'Baye was fooking awful, in that sense he has been consistent whilst on ITV.
Call me thick but WTF is the old Doobie!!! - Couldnt you tell he was from the Calzaghe camp - You could say he did a Calzaghe on M Baye.

The guy gives away the early rounds and relies on covering up too much and pressuring.

Rees Is faster than Kotelnik who I don't really rate.

Kotelnik struggled with M'Baye and lost to him.
Kotelnik employs that stupid tactic of hit and not get hit, unfortunately the crap doesn´t sit well with hometown judges.

He didn´t lose to M´Baye in the rematch. The crap was fixed. Three judges from the UK, please.

Yes, Kotelnik is a methodical fighter looking for openings and M´Baye/Witter are defensive fighters by nature, so Rees will actually present more openings to Kotelnik. Of course it won´t matter if Warren birngs the family to judge.
