how much should hatton make from this fight with floyd??
how much should hatton make from this fight with floyd??
i think hattons purse should be around $10m but he gets a share in the ppv
he could double the $10m because of the uk buyers and his share of the american ppv
any thoughts??

If Hatton's purse is to be $10m plus a % of the PPV, what shoudl Mayweather's purse & percentage of the PPV be? There's no way Mayweather would accept any terms other than him receiving more money than Hatton.
I think Hatton should get less to get more. Obviously like Floyd did with Oscar. The involvement in such a big event raises your name.
Ppl who beat Oscar get really boosted box office. It means the average fans remember your name. Now Floyd - who'd actually been well matched vs Gatti & Judah to raise his profile - is on that pedestal.
Hatton will still make a lot of money. If he wins, he gets the biggest slice of the cake in future fights vs anyone (unless obviously Oscar...).
Ike Quartey's moving down to welter. That'd be a interesting one for Ricky if he wins the welter title.

I still don't get the boxing purse system. It's probably the only sport where a winning fighter could potentially make 10 times less than the losing fighter.
Why don't they just pre determine a winners and a losers purse and have the result determine who gets paid more.
If boxing employed this then it would sort out most money rows, and make lower level fights more exciting. Why should a journeyman go all out and risk getting KOed when he knows he's getting paid sweet F all regardless, but if you dangle a winners purse carrot in front of him, he might make the fight more exciting.
