Didn't know that HBO loved him. They pretty much (Merchant anyway) insulted him after edging Quartey. He said something like "Thank the Lord for the win" then Merchant adds something like "Thank the judges too."
They liked him after the 1st Mosley when he was Mr Pound for Pound. Forrest then stank out the Mosley rematch - I still don't know who deserved to win that one.
He does have a good repertoire of shots and can look very tidy and competent.
I think he has to fight WBC#1 Sergio Martinez, whom most of us know from beating Richard Williams & Adrian Stone. That would be a decent fight.
Not sure what appealing fights are out there for him at 154. Maybe Mayorga 2 - Vargas is a fat parody at this stage so Mayorga could get him. Would like to see Karmazin get a shot. I suppose he could call out Margarito.
Now that would be a good one. Forrest and Margo were going to unify, but Forrest chose Mayorga instead and the rest is history!
Baldomir - Forrest (Spoilers)
<cough> Moore <sough>
Jamie deserves to get in the mix too. Granted, the likes of Forrest and the winner of Vargas Mayorga are, name wise, probably too big to attract. But I dont see why he cant hold his own and give Martinez, Karmazin et al a decent run for their money.
As for Forrest baldo, looking forward to seeing Vernon on Friday night, glad Sky are going to show the fight, even if it is delayed.

Too many egos at HBO. When they're not blatantly selling something, they're getting their personalities in the way. They are there to do a job, not dictate to the world. Always hated listening to HBO broadcasts. They're suited up and key lit to get the creases out of their face and give Colgate smiles - but they're sleazy fvcks anyway, cokeheads, beaters of women, LOL.
Merchant's a miserable git. Good that he can say when it's shit - like Alex Cox presenting Moviedrome - but he pisses off fighters. He can also make a fool of himself, like when he made some pathetic speech, something like "Oh Joe Louis, where are you." I thought he'd gone senile!
Hopkins-Wright, as shit as it was, did 300,000 PPVs. OK they never wanted Hopkins as their star, but he was always bigger than the HBO prima donnas and they always went up to fight him.
Can't stand Kellerman either. Bet he liked Forrest, though. He tried to sell Paul Williams and Collazo and a next generation of great Americans.
Larry WAS right though, with Forrest-Mosley 1, that beating the man doesn't make you the man. Because the US media went overboard and then Forrest lost to Mayorga. But he could be a bit more diplomatic, as VF had hardly done anything wrong.
