The rules for voting are the same however remember that there is only a one month turnaround which may effect the outcome of the fights:

- It is up to you to vote on the match-ups.

- You can include varying amounts of information (IE you can just say who wins, you can say how they won [UD, MD, SD, TKO KO + rd, DQ etc etc], give details of how and why if you like.)

- The majority will decide who wins and moves on to the next round, and I will see if there is a consensus on how it ended, since this will have a bearing on what might happen in the next fight.

- Lets just stick to voting and stating your case if you have one, not arguing with other voters since it will clutter things up.

- Cut off for voting on this round will be next Saturday.

- [New addition] In the event of a tie the winner will be whoever the first person to respond has chosen.

- Have Fun & Play Nice.

Tauasa starts flat after a tough fight only a month ago. Bowie wins the opening round easily and drops Tauasa early in the second. Tauasa holds on well, but is struggling to win a round. Bowie slows down and can't finish it off, and Tauasa seems to finish quite well, but there doesn't seem to be much in his punch's. Scores 116-111, 117-110 and 117-110 for the winner by unanimous decision

Bowie Tupou UD

Solomon Haumono has a much easier time in dispatching Colin Wilson. Solo dominated the opening round and the ref stopped Wilson from further punishment mid way through the 2nd.

The results of the second round are in:

Bowie Tupou – 1
Lawrence Tauasa – 3

The result is Lawrence Tauasa UD Bowie Tupou

Some people were questioning whether Lawrence could back up after his tough encounter last month. It seems Bowie was wondering the same thing as he came out strongly trying to put his man away. However Tauasa was able to cover up and use the ring well to avoid the initial onslaught. Bowie took the early rounds but Tauasa’s experience was showing and he was able to turn the tide in the 5th round when he landed a beautiful right hand counter that visibly shook Tupou. Lawrence then went to work landing a barrage of punches that would set the scene for the rest of the fight. Bowie couldn’t handle the increased pressure as he tired in the second half of the fight. He still connected with the odd heavy shot but Tauasa was winning the rounds by landing many more, albeit less powerful, punches. Exhausted both men were glad to hear the final bell and when all three judges agreed on the 115-113 score Lawrence was through to the final.

Solomon Haumono – 3
Colin Wilson – 1

The result is Solomon Haumono KO4 Colin Wilson

Solomon looked determined as he walked to the ring staring Wilson down with Liston like menace. Colin was wary early in the first round pawing with the jab trying to feel out his opponent. Haumono walked straight forward to kick off the action making Wilson eat several big shots. Wilson’s many years in the ring helped him to see out the round. The second and third rounds saw Haumono throwing tight, strong punches. Colin tried to fight his way out of trouble but Solomon walked straight through and punished Wilson on the ropes. In the fourth Haumono double pumped his jab and followed it with a straight right hand over the top. As Wilson was falling Haumono scored with a devastating left hook for good measure. Landing face first on the canvas Wilson was no chance to beat the count as Haumono raised his hands in victory.

Tuasa KO6 ;
Haumono comes out strong and boxes well through the first 5 rounds, At the end of the 5th round Tauasa catches Huamono with a big right hand and almost finishes him before he is saved by the bell. At the start of the 6th they both stand and trade blows with both fighters being wobbled until Tauasa catches Haumono again this time with a left hook and Haumono cant continue.

Tauasa looks up for this contest and is in great shape despite two really tough fights in the last couple of months. There is still a little bit of swelling below the left eye of Tauasa. Solo Also looks in great shape. Solo comes into this a little cold and gets caught by a well timed shot early in the opening round that drops him for a flash knock down. Solo bounces straight up and doesn't seem overly bothered by the KD. Tauasa though wins the opening 3 rounds. Solo starts to warm to the task in the 4th working Tauasa into the ropes a couple of times and winning the round through aggression. The 5th is a tough round to score, but a good left from Tauasa late in the round swings it slightly in his favour. Tauasa starting to feel the effects of the last two fights by this stage and Solo wins the 6th and 7th, but still isn't able to land any really telling blows. The pace up to this stage has been fast and it noticabely slows in the next round, but Solo still takes the round for mine. The 9th is a similar story and it appears we are heading for a points decision. I have the scores locked at 85-85 with 3 to go. Solo looks like he is very prepared and capable of going the distance, he is stalking and picking his punch's well, Tauasa is trying to close the gap, but is getting picked off, then late in the round a big 1,2 combination drops Tauasa, Tauasa gets up and stumbles across the ring, with the ropes stopping him from falling over again. The bell sounds to save Tauasa. Round 11 and Tauasa's left eye is all but closed and his legs look shakey, Solo comes in for the kill, but a brave Tauasa holds on and even lands some good counters and is probably winning the round. Finally a fairly inocuous jab from Haumono sneaks through and Tauasa's legs betray him again. Some more wild punching from Haumono, none of which seem to land and the referee steps in and stops the fight and most agree it was a slightly premature stoppage.

Tauasa pts - survives a torrid first half then then his greater experience makes the difference down the stretch, although it's messy and not exciting.
