Mitchell wont go up a weight, Earl wont move down. Mitchell should be ready to step up a little more now.

Mitchell's latest result looked impressive on paper, but I was surprised at quite how 'buried' he was on the undercard, considering Frank had been pushing him as a genuine world title prospect. Do people think that Frank's lost a bit of faith in Kevin's ability to progress beyond British level, or is having the spotlight shifted onto Amir actually going to aid his development in the long-term?
For what it's worth, I view Mitchell much in the same way I view Murray in that he's got some nice skills, but doesn't seem to be exceptional in any department. His defence has also looked alarmingly porous at times. Consquently I could see him operating at European level, and given the era of fragmented belts, possibly challenging for a world title, but can't see him operating at that level for any period of time.

I would tend to agree. But i think he stops Earl who i think was punchy before he fought Katsidis. Earl is on the decline and has had a fair amount of hard fights; a few people need to start taking a close eye at him i think.

mitchell has already stated he would be willing to move up and meet kahn inthe middle in a catchweight fight. presumably he would do the same against earl? cant seee any reason for him not to do so.

Fighting Khan at catchweight makes great business sense, doing so with Earl doesnt imo. In any case, Earl is fighting Khan isnt he?
