Diaz-Morales
Diaz-Morales
Ok, I thought Diaz would be favourite this fight, but he's not. Anybody else think Diaz is a great bet to win this at best price 13/10? Looks a good one to me. I think that the version of Morales we're going to see will be even worse than the Morales that lost to Zahir Raheem. He has won 1 of his past 5 fights, so why should he be favourite against a naturally bigger and much hungrier fighter? Diaz has even fought a number of his bouts at Welterweight. Surely he will be far too strong for Erik. I thought Forrest to beat Baldomir was bet of the year, but this one looks better again. Does anybody here think Morales wins this?
I just can't help think back to the shot Gatti getting bowled over by an opponent who was simply bigger and stronger than him. I know Morales is no Gatti and David Diaz isn't very good, but neither was Zahir Raheem. I can't see Morales backing away from Diaz in the early rounds and I think he gets worn down. Diaz will probably be the strongest guy he has ever been in with and this is just the wrong time in his career for it.
Yes you could be correct, I think Raheem is ALOT better than Diaz mind. A slick boxer who could give anyone problems.johnswan1 wrote:I just can't help think back to the shot Gatti getting bowled over by an opponent who was simply bigger and stronger than him. If Morales does get drawn into a fight - then it could be problems. I just don't think Diaz hits sharp enough to make Morales stay off his game plan. A bit like Carlos Hernandez.
This was the type of fight that I'd like to have seen scored to Morales, he was landing the precise accurate punches, but Diaz was throwing more leather although less accurate and with less success. Reminded me abit of Toney-Peter I where the same happened.
Morales showed his class throughout, but he just didn't have the legs to keep his workrate up, but he deserved the win IMO
