Dennis Hobson will remain as Ricky Hatton's UK promoter, depending on the result of the Mayweather fight is subject to when we will see Hatton have a homecoming fight as publicised in one of the tabloids. Sky TV have stated something similar in regards to Hobson being retained as Hatton's UK promoter.
Hobson will do a fine job if and when Ricky rfghts in the UK. However, I fail to see what he could possibly bring to the table in the US market. Golden Boy, Arum or King -- the latter two only advisable if you have the shit-hottest of shit-hot lawyers to read through the contract -- can all do a far, far better job stateside. I think that is a given for more sane observes, and therefore there's not much point in giving away 10 percent, or whatever Hobson gets.
That being said, I wonder if Papa Hatton could do with some managerial advice? I suspect he's not exactly Lou Duva when it comes to Stateside boxing savvy. A flat 'consultancy' fee would be worth it for Hatton to be guided by a man who he trusts and one that did such a fantastic job with Clinton Woods.

Does that mean Hatton's fights will be on Setanta, what with Hobson having a contract with them?Albert wrote:Dennis Hobson will remain as Ricky Hatton's UK promoter, depending on the result of the Mayweather fight is subject to when we will see Hatton have a homecoming fight as publicised in one of the tabloids.
