sports network statement about khan-earl.

Post by emma »

Recent reports in the media have said that Amir Khan will fight Graham Earl on December 8 in London.

These reports are premature and inaccurate and are to be disregarded.

Khans next officially scheduled fight is on October 6th at the Nottingham Arena against an opponent to be confirmed.

No further dates or venues featuring Khan have been announced by Sports Network and any announcements will be made by way of press release or press conference.

Frank isn't the only guy who bands reporters.

Lou DiBella just banned maxboxing. Problem with max is that they get on too many bandwagons. The Margarito one, for instance (fine that they show him respect, but did they all have to pick him over Williams?).

Right now they're loving Top Rank and ripping Lou. You can see why, the way TR develop some really solid fighters (Pavlik, Soto, Mijares, Cotto) and that DiBella's are flawed (Berto, Taylor etc) if talented.

But there is also a flipside - Lou just stepped up Berto (Cosme Rivera) and is going to step him up further (Estrade). Whereas, say, look at the cynical money making Top Rank made out of Arce (vs nobodies) and look how they wasted the Marquez bros.

Some promoters are just hypersensitive to criticism. But obviously, if you know they are, I guess you have to tread on egg shells...

I heard Berto struggled his arse off against Cosme Rivera. Any truth in that?

No massive shame in struggling to a deserving decision vs Rivera. Rivera was robbed vs Julio IMO - although, Julio isn't the fighter previously hyped.

I am now told Berto was in full control when Rivera dropped him in the 6th and he resumed control to win.[/list]
