Can any of you remember there was a bit of a storm concerning DLH and PBF when the tickets went on sale due to very few being made available to the public.
There will be a lot of Brits wanting to go to the Hatton/PBF fight, I am willing to bet there will not be 10,000 tickets this time around for them. There is too much money needed to pay the fighters and I can see "corportate" people and high rollers taking the lions share for such a big occasion.
I hope I am wrong and the "fans" take priority, something needs to be sorted at the British end otherwise you will see what is available to the public being swamped by punters in America.
Not scaremongering just taking note on what has happened on major big fights like this. Oscar is very very good indeed in recouping his dosh by having those loaded high rollers being taken care off by the casinos who will pay big money to have priority on tickets.

As anyone who has observed British sports fans travelling abroad will know, no matter how many tickets are officially available, the crowd will still be dominated by Union Jack wearing, blue-moon singing Ricky Die-hards. Look at EVERY major international football tournament - in the month prior to kick off there is a major hoo-haa in the press about the derisory number of tickets that english fans have been given, but come match day, the ground is a sea of white. I'll be phoning up the second they go on sale and will keep trying until they're sold out, so i think I'll be OK, but we'll have to see.
I see the words "Black Market" have been mentioned already. I fully acknowledge how good Ricky Hatton fans are travelling in their thousands to Vegas twice already this year, so the first question has to be:
Why should those fans have to buy tickets on the black market when they have already proved their loyalty?
I have noticed on various websites that many eager fans have already booked their tickets through agencies who are selling their tickets in package deals.
How can this be, when Golden Boy promotions have not even decided the venue of the fight, and in addition the price of tickets has not even been decided?
The biggest question of has to be my original point, how are Golden Boy going to sell the tickets and are they going to have a UK agent to ensure fair play so at least some genuine Hatton fans can see the fight? I make this point as I think Golden Boy promotions in the past have sold their tickets through "ticketmaster US" or something like that only. That is of course those tickets which are being made available to the public as

Seem to reap the benefits of having the majority of tickets allocated to them.
My final point is of course the pricing of tickets. Are the prices going to be set at realistic levels. Hatton fans have TWICE travelled in their thousands to Vegas in 2007. This fight with Mayweather is just before Christmas. Are Golden Boy going to think of the fans?

Golden Boy will have no loyalty to Hatton fans. They will price them at what they think will sell out and wont give a toss if they sell to casinos for high-rollers, Joe Public or travel agents over here who will fleece punters with huge commissions and make you book flights and hotels through them.
If it goes to Las Vegas it could end up like a lot of big Vegas fights where casinos screen it on closed circuit for fans without tickets. Bars in Las Vegas wont show it because there will be ppv blackout in that area of Nevada.
All GBP are bothered about is getting Hatton and Mayweayher in front of press and cameras to sell HBO ppv. They couldn't care who buys tickets or who wins as neither fighter is under contract to them long term.
It is a one off so cash is king to the promoter

Took a chance 3 of us booked and going
Land Dec 6th at around 1740 local time in Vegas - one stop in Atlanta on the way from London
4 nights in Circus Circus in the west tower or some such name
£540 Alltogether which is not bad really
Early flight monday morning at 0800 from Vegas on way home but not too bad.
Now just sweating on it actually being there and getting tickets.
Still I suppose I could come back in a nice spice girls t shirt having watched them and then watched Ricky batter FM on closed circuit from New York, even I can see the funny side of that, although my 2 mates are frothing at the bit in case it goes tits up.

I think you are completely right in what you have stated. I also have to say why shouldn't the promoter be able to make a few quid, rightly so. But with all that said lets not get greedy. Surely ODH knows if he allocates a certain few thousand to the UK they will sell out and he will make his money regardless.
My whole point about Hatton/Mayweather is there should be a certain amount of tickets available to the Joe Public in the UK. They are the ones who have made the atmosphere in Las Vegas when Ricky has fought so special.
Come on Oscar make them tickets available to the Hatton fans.
Lastly saw a rumour that the lowest priced ticket could possibly be as much as $300.
I suppose until there is an official announcement it is going to be all rumour.
Rumour is $850 ringside as with Pacman and Barrera, with the cheapest $50, but it was $2000 for ringside when I saw DLH v Mayweather and I have a feeling they will be the same this time because fo the UK demand.MightyWarrior wrote:Anyone got an idea what the price range for tickets will be?
