I am pretty sure my mate above beat him, Although I could be mistaken mate.

I know he beat Julius in one or two out of there three fights.

hate to plead ignorance, but i never heard of "unlicensed circuit" before and i dont think we have anything like it in america!! is it just guys too old or washed up to get a license? different rules? what would be the advantage for a fighter to go that route?

i remember when they had one of those HW tourneys in the 1990s, they had some british guy who was unbeaten in bareknuckle matches...is it any like that? BTW is that bareknuckle thing still going on?

bareknuckle fights still go on but it is mainly within the travelling comutinty and is very underground and is illegal but the unlicenced boxing is called that because it is not reconised by the british boxing board of control these shows go on all over britain and are not illegal fighters wear 10oz gloves and box mostly 3x2s or 4x2s championship fights can be 6, 8 or 10 rounds but that is normaly agreed between the fighters before hand the biggest promoter in britian is a man called alan mortlock and he runs shows under the baner of IBA boxing and puts shows on in and around essex and they are run very well they have doctors there and the local hospitals are informed that there is a show on that night and he try,s to put on even fights as best he can ?????? boxers can earn very good money from selling tickets and more ex pros are boxing on thes shows because they can earn more money on these shows that when they were pro's

Bareknuckle fights are more widespread than people realise and it is not just travellers mate, I know plenty of fella's fighting in these circles.

brian is still floating about in and around the gyms training also columbo is still about and helping out the fighters at the tavern they must be in there late 60s early 70s now

I assume you mean Steve Columbo the ex-Welterweight? I have heard he is/was a real character. Was it him who once put a stool over someones head during and unlicened fight?

He is a top fella and a good fighter in his day mate although Roy Shaw done him in the 1st round to take his unbeaten record away....No shame in that though.

has anyone got a dvd of the hole show when roy shaw boxed starbuck at dartford football club i think it was 1979 because there was a fight on it of the trainer of west ham boxing club micky may ive seen it once but cant get hold of it can anyone help

also what pub does harry starbuck own because id like to go and meet him
