Hello, my name is Russ Hogue. I was a professional kickboxer; however, I did have two professional boxing matches.

There were no boxing shows in Illinois or those cities on that date, so I don't think you're being truthful here. These will not be entered.

5-rounders do happen, for example the Olympic Auditorium in LA used them in the 1970s.

Otherwise he'd need to supply some details on the other bouts that happened on these dates, or a promotor name or some paperwork. Some bit of evidence tbh.

As I said, I really spent my time kickboxing after I turned pro. Both events were "kickboxing" events; however, my matches were held using traditional boxing rules. It would be interesting if these matches were officially classified as kickboxing instead of boxing (because I would have two more wins on my pro record).

I recall Bruno Davis was the promoter for the first event.

For the second event, I will have to go through and see if I have any of the old posters so I can verify the date. I can't recall if it was Jim Boucher or Tommy Whittaker who promoted the second event?

Let me know if you find anything with these promoters. If you do not, I will do a little more digging.

As to the question about the number of rounds:

1. The first match was a TKO in 3. It might have only be scheduled for 4 rounds? However, I thought it was scheduled for 5 rounds?

2. The second match was definitely a 5 rounder. Again, this is primarily because it was on a kickboxing card. Pro-kickboxing matches are almost always 5 rounders. I know this one went 5 rounds because I actually broke my, again, in the match.

I found out for certain, the second match was never officially registered as a boxing match. The promoter was Jim Boucher and the match was scheduled as a kickboxing match. . .I guess it goes down in the record books as a "big nothing". It doesn't count on my kickboxing record and it doesn't count on my boxing record. . .not as a sanctioned match any way?

Any rate, I haven't been able to find any of the contact information for the first match. However, it was the same situation. It was a scheduled kickboxing match and it got changed when I was in Bloomington for the weigh in. . .I found an old program from the event. . .perhaps it is another match that doesn't count as either boxing or kickboxing?

I guess I can look at it on the bright side, I got paid for two non-professional boxing matches?

Now, that being said, if you can track down the promoter then perhaps I am wrong and he may have registerd it as an official match?
