There have been a lot of good fights announced to bring us into the end of the year. Marquez-Vaszquez II tonight should be great and Diaz-Morales will be interesting at least.
Add to that the likes of Hatton-Mayweather, Cotto-Mosley, Calzaghe-Kessler, Mormeck-Haye, Manny Pac - MAB II, Guzman-Sotto, Marquez-Barrios, DeLeon-Bautista, Vargas-Mayorga, Taylor-Pavlik, the Diaz-Diaz unification at lightweight and the intrigue of Ibragimov-Holyfield there is a hell of a lot to look forward to.
I guess with all of that its harsh to ask for more but I still think there are a few potential decent match-ups out there.
Obviously if it hasn't been confirmed yet then Peter-Maskaev should be made. In the name of all that is right and fair.
At Cruiser I'd really like to see Enzo Mac in with O'Neill Bell which would be a bombs away war.
At Light Heavy Jones showed me enough against Hanshaw to suggest a bout with Dawson might not be the open and shut case that many had previously suggested.
At Super-Middle how about Green-Andrade, Froch-Dennis Inkin ,Mundine-Bute (I don't think it will take Bute long to do away with Berrio) all of which could be great fights.
Abraham-Sturm seems a natural contest at middle with the winner perfectly placed to challenge the Pavlik-Taylor victor .
At light middle there ain't much but Forrest-Alcine would be worthy enough.
For me at welter Cintron-Williams is a natural contest. Put Clottey-Judah on the undercard and you have a great fight night.
Linares-Chi for me decides the top dog at Feather as Chris John will never leave the safety of Indonesia.
At super bantam Caballero I think may be the best and should get a shot at tonights winner.
Hasegawa-Gonzalez would be a fantastic contest at Bantam as they are way ahead of the rest but due to Geography it may be impossible.
I think Darch and Arce now need each other more than ever and both need a big win to relaunch themselves. What better than each other.
I think again going back to Heavy that though it maybe premature I'd love to see Povetkin-Arreola. The winner would prove they were the future. But no way their respective matchmakers risk that.
Notice I can't see any worth while matches involving B-Hop or Winky. To be honest I wish both would just hang em up. Oscar may still have something to offer at Welter but no chance he fights again this year. I also would like to see Quartey and Baldo give up the ghost though Ike does have a legitimate claim to challenge Forrest IMO. Hope rumours of Tito coming back are unfounded as well. Man has that ship sailed.
From a British/Irish perspective I would love to see Macklin-Duddy at Middle, Colin Lynes getting a shot at Gavin Rees at Junior Welter, and Khan in with Earl or Thaxton at Lightweight. Alex Arthur could also stay active until the big super-feather bouts resolve themselves by taking on dangerous Leva Kirkosyan for his old European title.
Jamie Moore - Bradley Pryce would be a fair old ding dong at Junior Middle as well though Jamie should be shooting for the likes of Dzindzurek of the WBO belt or a decent name like Sechew Powell in a fight which was mooted previously but just went away.
Eastman-Locket at Middle and Dean Franics-Tony Oakey are also pretty logical bouts in my estimation. Thumbs Up boxing
