Paul Miller

Post by walford »

I remember arguing with a bloke about 12 months ago that Paul Miller was a better fighter than Jamie Pittman. He hasn't fought since Oct 05.

I feel stupid, because I liked Miller as a fighter, he lacked power, but was technically very good.

WHERE DID HE GO????

Injuries took their toll plus an education / job took priority.

Had all the talent in the world but always troubled by injury.

Pittman would demolish Miller as a pro

At the time I thougt it would be a very good fight and I was of the opinion that Miller had the better boxing skills, saw him a few times and thought he was very good technically.

He's still only like 29 or something isn't he????

Both Miller and Pittman were great amatures but I just can't see them as great pros. Miller has done the right thing to give it away. No point mucking around in this game if your not 100%. I prodict Pitman won't be to far behind him, he has already had hand surgery and looks to cut easy. He will hang around to get some sort of pay day then I don't think we will see much more of him. Good luck to him anyway he is a nice bloke.

Speaking of vanishing boxers, whatever happened to Cliff Sarmardin? Here was a bloke who had a 24-0-0 (14KOs) record in a four year period, including a points win over Lovemore NDou and then seems to have vanished off the face of the earth!

Is there something everybody else knows that I don't? I confess ignorance on this matter, but if he is still around he would only be about 34. His last fight was in about 1995 or 1996.

Cliff Sarmardin got ripped off payment on his last fight and just walked away. He did an interview a few months ago on "The Sweat Science" (the Koori Radio Boxing show on Monday nights between 6-8pm).

That is a shame. He seemed to have a real future.
