Amir Khan V Graham Earl announced for December ?

How much will Earl have left after the hiding he got off Katsidis,
I think its a good move by Warren as Earl will look good on Khan's resume and i dont think he will be anywere near as good as he was a year ago. The only thing is whether Earl can land a big punch that can hurt Khan, If not he will probably lose by UD.

Earl's a name after fighting Romanov and Katsidis, but both of those fights took a hell of a lot out of him. Even the fight he had in between those, he nearly lost to the Spaniard.

no, terry, his article was so pro mutley it was untrue. but then he's a brummie and mutley was the best kept secret in british boxing apparantly.
i dont blame him but he was a little too hot on the local boy.

i'm not sure £500 on graham is a good idea. khan surely wont try fighting on the back foot like he did so ineffectually against limond.
he doesnt convince me in this style.... and yet physically it is how he should be fighting. maybe this is where he should be learning his trade, what i call "on the slow retreat" picking meaningful jabs in between his opponents leads while stepping back and using reach and agility to do this, countering really but its more than just countering somehow. all my favourites thru the years could do it but khan hasnt mastered the art..yet.
does anyone know what i'm talking about? sorry, it is a good wine and i intend to finish it.

Khan wins this for me, i just see him getting back on track for some reason.. Just can't see him losing to Earl.

Oh dear, my wife read my post about putting £500 on Graham Earl beating Khan and she didnt like it, but there she was last week trying to fill a second wardrobe with about the same money - I said if I win and the odds are good you wont be complaining, anyway its not as if I do it all the time - I think its a good bet and I am going for it - Obviously hard fights do take their toll on a fighter but I dont think Earl is in decline or that fighting Katsidis has fukced him up - Earl has been fighting at a much higher level than Khan where he has gained invaluable experiance - At that level you expect the fights to be tough - I know Graham cant match the kid for speed and that will be Khans strong point as it usually is but Earl can bang and with Khans open style he is sure to find Khans chin - Khan comes forward and upright with his chin out and against the lower opposition he got away with it - Limond not known for punch power found the target and well and truly stunned Khan (something not in the script) - Graham Earl is in a class above Limond as a fighter and has the punch power to go with it so I firmly believe he not only can but will stop Khan the first chance he gets - This is a big chance for Earl to make some decent money and make a big name for himself so he isnt going to dissapoint - Another thing about Earl is, he has a lot of heart and courage as we have seen in the past - Even when he is getting hammered he doesnt get discouraged and gives it all he has - Earl cant win on points and Khan cant stay the distance with him, thats my view and we shall just have wait and see what happens.

No way Earl beats Khan, hes not a puncher and won't time his shots as well as Limmond. Khan will also be improved next time he steps up

SPORTS NETWORK STATEMENT

Recent reports in the media have said that Amir Khan will fight Graham Earl on December 8 in London.

These reports are premature and inaccurate and are to be disregarded.

Khans next officially scheduled fight is on October 6th at the Nottingham Arena against an opponent to be confirmed.

No further dates or venues featuring Khan have been announced by Sports Network and any announcements will be made by way of press release or press conference.

Earl is over-rated; ok, he put up a decent show against Katsidis, but he made his name by featuring in two of the worst decisions of all time against Vanzie, who's not exactly peak-era Roberto Duran himself!

I think there's also been a bit of an over-reaction to Khan's problems against Limond; he was badly hurt in the 6th, but he was controlling the fight up to that point. He's not suddenly a "phoney" cos he gets knocked down in one fight. Tito Trinidad was dumped on his arse by Kevin Lueshing and Trinidad grew up to be a reasonable operator!

Khan beats Earl pretty easily.

I'm inclined to agree with gb - up until he got hurt Khan dominated Limond - ok he got hurt but he came back. Earl has looked good in the Romanov fight but TBH he's looked very average and beatable in just about every other fight ive seen him in- Burns, Vanzie (1&2) , Kevin Bennett,Ramirez and even against Journeyman Eremeev he looked less than stellar. But one thing you have to give Earl, he's a tough SOB with loads of heart.
