Cuba may drop out of World Championship

Says Castro doesn't want any other boxers defecting.

Could hurt the Cuban fighters cuz this is the first time to qualify for the Olympics. It really wouldn't feel like the World Championships without a Cuban team competing

More medals for everyone else. Although the Cubans didn't do as well as expected in the Pan Am Games.

I don't think Teo is being truthful when he says that they are NOT traitors. The only reason they are HOME is because they were caught

Are you sure? I've heard mixed reports about being caught vs. turning themselves in so they could go back to Cuba.

I read in the sports illistrated that has Bonds breaking the record, that the 2 Cubans did not defect, they just took off forr some r&r and went to a resort to "party".

I have some boxers that have done that too. You take boxers on trips and many don't focus on the primary goal - the boxing. There are a lot who would rather party, stay out late, gamble, etc. I hope our boxers that we send to Beijing maintain the proper focus.
